We took the tour Chichen Itzá combined with a cenote and a brief stop in the colonial town of Valladolid and to visit a tequila distillery.
It was raining or should I say poring early morning when Jerry and his driver (sorry I forgot his name) picked us up from our accommodation by the Maya beach. There was a long drive ahead and Jerry told us a lot about Mexico on the way. He also allowed for napping to catch up on the lack of sleep we got taking off so early. Starting the tour early is essential to be everywhere before the crowds.
On the way we stopped at a small place where we could buy ourselves coffee and snacks and use the bathroom. There was plenty of chilled bottled water in Jerry's van so we didn't need to buy any.
At Chichen Itzá the crowds hadn't shown up so we walked between the buildings learning everything there is to know about the old Mayan history. Many of the things he told us came as a surprise for I thought like probably most people that all the sacrifices were ..... :-) and the games!
I found it great to follow in the footsteps of the Viking Baldur who apparently was there shortly before the year 1000 after leaving Iceland. This is from the Icelanders Sagas, not something Jerry told us :-)
When leaving Chichen Itzá we walked through some sales booths were locals were selling and making souvenirs. Well handcrafted and the sales people were not at all aggressive. Again we had an opportunity to get a cup of coffee and use the bathroom.
When visiting the cenote we were offered to go in and swim but since the weather wasn't to shout hurray for we skipped it. Of course Jerry told us all about how they are formed. After viewing the cenote we had a lunch buffet. Endless variations and all very tasty and well presented.
In Valladolid we learned a bit about the history of the town and how all the old towns are built up in similar way by the Spanish. We had a nice ice cream before we went to the tequila distillery. We tasted both good and bad tequila's and everything in between and had the opportunity to buy some.
On the way back Jerry kept telling us everything we wanted to know about Mexico and the ancient people that lived there.
After a long and joyful day we said goodbye to Jerry and his driver.
This is a kind of tour I would like to take in every place I visit.
Thank you Jerry for a great tour and a fun day.

We booked a day trip w/ Jerry to visit Tulum. The whole experience was well worth it and the highlight of our week in Cancun.

Prior to our trip the email communication with Jerry's team was fast and easy. We paid the deposit via PayPal and were all set to go. Our party included 4 adults and 2 kids (age 7 and 4).

Our day began when Jerry picked us up from the Royal Caribbean Resort at 6 am. This was an early start but it was recommended to beat the crowds so we were glad to get going. The van ride was spacious, clean and comfortable. On the trip down Jerry took time to get to know us and shared a lot of knowledge about the Yucatan. We stopped on the way for coffee at Starbucks which was a nice stretch break.

First we visited the ruins at Tulum. Jerry's guided tour made it a great experience. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about Mayan history and culture. He knows the ins and outs to navigate us to the best spots, the best views and to be sure we see the highlights. He was great about pausing to take the best pictures and to soak in the sights without moving too quickly.

After Tulum we took a short ride to a local cenote for a swim. We'd never done this before and thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

Afterwards we got back into dry clothes and Jerry took us to a restaurant in the town of Tulum. He had a large table ready for us when we arrived, it was a busy & popular local place on the main street in town. The food was outstanding. During lunch we mentioned our plans to visit Isla Mujares later in the week and Jerry give us several tips and suggestions which proved valuable to us later.

On the way back to Cancun Jerry once again took time to share more about the history and culture of the area. This experience was especially fun for us as our 7 year old is studying in a Spanish Immersion program and so he and Jerry were conversing in Spanish throughout the day. Jerry and his team were all very friendly, kind, and generous with our entire group and we all really enjoyed the day. Highly recommend!

We contracted Jerry and Hugo for our group of 33 people last week. On Jerry's recommendation, we left at 6AM to beat the crowds and heat. It was not easy, since the wedding was the night before (!) but he was right..we were ahead of the crowds all day. We also swam in a cenote, had an excellent lunch, visited the Spanish town of Valladolid and toured a tequila factory with free samples. We were tired at the end of the day but everyone on the tour had a great time, even the kids, 11, 8 and 9 months. Thanks to Jerry and Hugo for an unforgettable tour of Mayan culture and history!

My wife and I and our two adult children spent a totally enjoyable day with Jerry touring Chichen Itza, Selva Maya cenote and the central square in the colonial town of Valladolid. We got a history lesson on way and he answered a hundred questions about Mexican life and culture. We arrived early on the site and got the jump on the crowds. The lunch stop was excellent as was the cenote swim and ice cream stop in Valladolid. Jerry was a great teacher and ambassador and completely welcoming. Highly recommend!

We are quite a large group and Jerry and Luis made sure that our ride from our home away from home to Chichén Itzá was not only comfortable but also very educational. He made sure that everything was organized and that we get there before the crowd started gathering. Excellent trip with fantastic lunch and enjoyable swim at a cenote. It felt like exploring the sights with a friend. Thank you, Jerry and Luis for a wonderful tour and for sharing a bit of your culture and history!
