Owner description: Fish Spa Mexico launched a pioneering treatment in the therapeutic and wellness world, being one of the healthiest trends of the moment. Using authentic Garra Rufa fish, also known as "Doctor Fish". These tropical fish from Turkey feed on dead skin cells. You can experience the innovative "Fish Spa Pedicure", exfoliation, biological natural dermabrasion provided by the fish spa, having a great time. Garra Rufa Fish gently suctions dead cells from the outer layer of skin without touching the inner layers. At the same time, they produced micro suction massage which activates blood circulation and facilitates the regeneration of healthy skin. The dead skin is removed and the new layers of skin are more glossy, smooth and healthy. Feet:Submerged in a pond with a comfortable armchair with approximately 150 fish per person, at least 30 minutes recommended time.

“Save $, walk on beach!”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Second time, was looking forward to it and was disappointed! Where to begin...paid then told, after cash exchange, that there would be a 30-45 minute wait, even though there were 2 tanks by the front door! Omir, the wash boy, was rude and doesn't really like/want his job there. Went through all 3 sets of tanks and barely had a nibble (the 100% opposite of the previous visit 16 months earlier) some guy kept coming by asking if we knew where Omir was...strange along with the guys constant ramblings about foot washing and muslim respect (not the thing to say to a woman who is versed in the quaran!). The fish were not eating and the tanks were gross (little bits of foot skin in the bottom making a sludge in the corners) Service was lacking. Want more bang for your buck...walk where the ocean meets the land for smooth feet. Will never do the fish spa again.

“Don't be afraid...A must do!!!”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

My 8 year old son and I visited the Fish Spa in Cancun. We loved it! The owner made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived and the whole time we were there. They picked us up at our hotel and took us back. A great experience from start to finish! I cannot wait to do this again:)

“It tickeled but it worked!”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Was in Playa this week and gave this a try. It really works! It tickles at first but then you get used to it and it is really relaxing. The price is good so you should give it a try.

“Whoa! Amazing/Bizarre”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

I had heard of the Fish Spa forever and was so delighted to come across this location in the Wayan Natural Wear shop at the Luxury Avenue mall. The price was right -- $15 for 20 minutes -- and the tank was super clean. The nibbling fish were tickle-y at first and then is just became a pleasant massage-like feeling. It helped that there were bubbles in the tank. My feet were super smooth afterwards. Loved it.

“Best $10 I've ever spent”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

This was hilarious to watch! 15min for $10 in Playa del Carmen, my uncle & husband did this. I was a little concerned when I got back to the hotel and googled it only to find out they've been banned in the US and many other countries due to health/sanitation issues...the one we went to had a constant UV light on the fish & the water and none of the bans addressed use of UV lights so I wasn't quite sure what to think. Overall it was a fun experience.
