We just arrived back home from the Moon Palace and what an incredible experience. This was my first all inclusive resort and will not be my last; we will definitely be coming back! Check-in and check-out was a breeze and the welcome to the hotel was really nice. We were greeted by the staff right as we got off the bus; we even received a cool towel upon arrival! …great after a 6 hour plane ride! We stayed in the Nizuc section with an ocean front view. Beautiful! Yes, the resort was under construction, but, we didn’t have any issues while we were there. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel special. Most everyone you will meet who works at the resort speaks impeccable English and most of them will cheerfully respond with "My Pleasure" when thanked for their service. The staff even carried our plates to our table!

I had read other reviews from different resorts that said you needed to tip the pool staff in order to get great service. This was not the case at the Moon. We had someone coming to our pool area all of the time replenishing our drinks and making sure everything was alright. I would recommend the Italian restaurant at the golf course. You need to make reservations for this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is top notch! We even went twice just so we could have the lasagna!

The entertainment was great and varied every night, something for everyone.

Some reviews have rated the resort poorly because of the seaweed in the water. Yes, there plenty of seaweed, but you can take a charter bus for free to the Sun Palace or Beach Palace and use all of their facilities. I would much rather stay at the moon where you are semi secluded with excellent staff and service and take the bus to the other palace resorts to swim in the ocean for the day.

The resort is enormous, but, there is a charter bus that goes from lobby to lobby ever 10 minutes or so. If you get lucky the staff driving the golf carts or spa van will offer to take you to your destination lobby instead of having to wait for the bus... such service and helpfulness! We definitely don’t want to see a charter bus for a really long time. …but it is really nice that they offer this service. Haha.

We used the $300 credit allotted for the spa. Best massage we have ever had. You’re able to go to the spa an hour before your appointment to use all of the facilities (Jacuzzi, steam room, etc) I even believe you can use these spa facilities at anytime, without a spa appointment. The spa services were exceptional and I highly recommend taking advantage of the SPA when you come to the Moon Palace.

We also used our resort credit for the Chichen Itza tour. Oh my goodness, best tour ever. Even though we were caught in a torrential rain poor! Our tour guide (Eric) was amazing and highly knowledgeable! I would highly recommend this tour.

There are tons of restaurants, pools and activities. You will never be bored! There are helpful employees virtually everywhere you look. The quality of service exceeded my expectations. I’m looking forward to returning. Thank you Moon Palace for making our visit a memorable experience!

Room Tip: We stayed in the 8000 (deer section). It's right by the Grand lobby so quick and easy access to the lobby bus. I found this to be a really quite section.

Moon Palace Sunrise was a good choice for my family. The teenagers loved the all-inclusive setting (they actually had too much food!). The kids all loved the Teen's Lounge and the Flow-Rider. My wife and I both enjoyed the Spa. The Golf course is very nice, but was unfortunately very wet (Nov.6/13 to Nov.14/13). All the food was better than average for an all-inclusive, with Momo's and the restaurant at the Golf course being the highlights.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice. If you can afford it, the Presidential suites are the nicest for 2 couples.

Great Resort to get away and relax. Smaller and much less crowded, with awesome staff to treat you special. The staff can really get to know the guests, resulting in personalized service.
Ricardo and his staff at Caribenos restaurant, as well as the girls at Los Tacos pool were outstanding.
With two other Palace resorts on the property, it provided availability to many different types of restaurants. One of our favorites La Trattoria, an Italian cuisine, was exceptional. You need to dress to eat here, but nice to have long pants and a nice shirt for dinner once and a while.
We will return.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be quite sunny, don't know that there is a bad room.

We have been vacationing at the Moon Palace for several years now and have always enjoyed our time there. We normally stay at the Sunrise complex but due to the scheduling of a large conference there in early November, we were booked in at the Nizuc. As seniors, we find the Sunrise more convenient, but everything worked out fine during our one week stay. As usual, we took advantage of the golf, Spa, entertainment and all other amenities offered throughout the complex.
Our high rating of this all inclusive facility pretty much tells the whole story. However, one cannot overlook the wonderful service you receive from an outstanding staff. Care, consideration, respect and customer satisfaction are all trademarks of this very well run operation. Special thanks to three restaurant employees for their outstanding service and friendliness. Juan Guinto from the Nizuc, Rodulfo Ramirez from Caporales and Moises Alvarez from the restaurant Tratoria.

Room Tip: If you are a senior or handicapped, make sure the building you are booked in has an elevator. .

My husband and I spent a day at Moon Palace while at the Beach Palace for a 10 days. It was very nice and seemed to have a lot of updated amenities since our last visit. They had a very cool thing called a wave rider that was in constant use by people of all ages. You could either use a boogie board or surf board to try out surfing. A resort "expert" was providing instruction on the surfing side. Moon Palace is so big and has so much to offer with three resorts in one. All three of the resorts have a different experience to offer so you can pick what type of vacation you are looking for. Fun and exciting, relaxing or a little of both - but in all cases - excellent service! The only thing I like better at some of the other Palace resorts is the beach. The water at moon palace is not the typical turquoise blue and there is quite a bit of seaweed in the water. But the many interesting and clean pools make up for it!!
