“Most relaxing vacation”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

We have stayed at the Moon Palace several times. It keeps getting better and better.
One of the new things was swimming with the dolphins- what a great experience.
The Moon Grand was beautiful and luxurious.
So many restaurants you can't visit them all. I may not consider the food to be 5 star, but there is some very good food, and so many choices.
The staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable.
Lots to do, if you want, or just relax, sunbath, maybe see a show..........
This is the best resort I have been to. We will be back.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with children, the sunrise section will keep them occupied and happy.

After booking my honeymoon here, I had concerns after reading some of the reviews from what I know now to be, insatiable individuals. The hotel was undergoing some building works but if you want places to be kept to a high standard then this is a necessity, and we were there out of season in November, so it is to be expected. You also have to read between the reviews as it is clear that the hotel have a very good marketing team who write many reviews on here.
Overall our holiday was fantastic, our room was a beach view with a hot tub, it was a little tired, but they were all due to be upgraded during the closed season. staff at the pool side couldn’t have been more helpful, they kept my wife and I sun loungers in the morning and provided extra towels. One of the big plus points was the pool side bar service, I don’t think I managed to finish a drink before the next one had arrived!
The resort had a great choice of food in different restaurants, with a good mix of casual to fine dining, but unfortunately didn’t make it round them all as we spent 2 nights at the sister hotel, beach palace in Cancun where you can dine as part of your package and the food was great! I would recommend booking before you go.
As part of our deal we had $2500 resort credits to spend on resort extras. We used ours on the jet skis, spa treatments, wine upgrades and excursions. You do have to pay the tax, but it’s still worth it.
You may be asked to attend the info session, we did and after an hour and a half of talking we just said how much will it cost us to get out of here...... they got the message and gave us our gifts, which got us into the explore excursion which I would highly recommended! Great day out!! My advice is don’t bother with it, as it’s an hour of my life I won’t get back...
All in all fantastic resort which is constantly being upgraded, don’t be put by the snooty reviews! Enjoy.

Room Tip: sunrise section had just been upgraded when we were there.

We have just returned after 2weeks in Moon Palace Grand and what a great resort.
The location and resort were absolutely beautiful and the layout of the resort is exceptional.
The Mexican staff were fabulous and so freindly and helpful.Special thanks should go to the staff in the Caribbean restaurant which was one of the 12 restaurants available on site.Manager Ricardo and waiters Carlos,Sergio,Mario,Luis and Adriana treated us to true Mexican hospitalityand helped make our holiday unforgetable.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the moon palace in April this year, in the grand section. We weren't sure what to expect from an all inclusive as we usually do self catering. But it was amazing, I couldn't fault it!! Rooms were incredible, mini bar stocked everyday and 24 hour room service!! Restaurants were lovely, our favourite was barracuda. We didn't rate La trattoria, food wasn't great but every other restaurant at the resort was good. We liked Los tacos for lunch and liked the pool there, saw the croc on lots of occasions. We also liked the Olympic pool. Overall service at the hotel was amazing, especially alonso, Alex and Alfredo at the Olympic pool, and alma at the sunrise lobby bar. They all went out of there way to ensure you were having a great time. The evening entertainment was brilliant, always something on. We used the resort credits for dinner on the beach, massages, a trip to tulum and the dolphins. The dolphin swim at the hotel was brilliant, it only worked out at 28 dollars for us both. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, we are going back next year!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Get the grand section, rooms are a lot bigger!!!!!

Nice accommodations, excellent service, very good food!! There are a lot of activities to do and because the hotel is so big you never get bored of the same restaurants! Would really recommend for a family trip.

Room Tip: if you are going as a group make sure they keep you in the same area as hotel is HUGE

Stayed 2 weeks at the Villas at Moon and played golf numerous times. We were able to get early tee times easily at the club house. Our equipment was taken care of, cleaned and stored, and the course was in great shape.
The highlight of our stay was the instructional help we got from Jose Corona, the pro. Husband did the swing analysis and the assistance given was 5 star. He also did the driving lesson and would highly recommend it. even though there were 3 others in the group he got individual attention. Wife did short game lesson and found it really enlightening. Now can chip successfully and putting and short irons have improved tremendously. Jose is a true professional in every sense. If we saw him later he would ask how things were going and even offered further hints. Don't miss a lesson from Jose!

Room Tip: Stayed at the golf villas and it was VERY quiet! Had our own personal golf cart to get around the re...

We are Palace Premier member and have been travelling to Palace Resorts (and now those that have been rebranded to Hard Rock hotels) for many years. We have been to Moon Palace on numerous occasions, so we were expecting the best. We were not disappointed.

We just returned from another wonderful holiday at Moon Palace March 13-20th. It was Spring Break and yes it was busy… the towel game was on, with people reserving chair as early as 6 am.. We didn’t partake in the game, and never had problems finding a chair. After a reasonable period of time, if a chair is still unoccupied, it is fair game. You can’t reserve a chair at 6 am and not expect for someone to be using it, when you return at Noon. That’s just rude.

Another family travelled with us, as member’s guests. Both families had pre-teens and teens. This time, we stayed on the Sunrise side in a family suite. This type of room is well suited for families with teen or if privacy is a requirement. It consist of two adjoining rooms (one with a King size bed, the other with 2 double beds)- each room with its own balcony and bathroom. Worth the extra expense, but not a must. A a family of four would still be comfortable in a two double beds room.

Food: There are plenty of option for all tastes, buffet or à la carte. We chose buffet for breakfast and lunch, and stuck to à la carte for dinner. There are plenty of à la carte restaurants, so there is no chance to not find at least one or two that will be to your taste and there are no limits as to how many times you go have an “a la carte” dinner, unlike some other places.

Resort Credits: I am not sure what people complain about regarding the resort credits. Yes, there are limitations, but I can see the reason for it… imagine, if there weren’t any limits on how many credits could be used at the SPA. It would be booked solid from patrons that arrived before you and you wouldn’t be able to go anyway. I had a hot stone massage- real nice and hubby got a therapeutic one. One of our kids had a mani/pedi, it was great. (they are included if you are a member or travelling as a guest of one). We booked the dolphin swim, right on site (a must do!) and purchased the Natura bissé kit… We didn’t get to use all of our credits, and it’s fine, because we see it as a nice perk, but not an absolute necessity.

Entertainment: This is a big part of what attracts people to the resort. There is something for everyone to do. From playing ping pong at the kids’ club, to spending time in the Teen lounge for some arcade time, poolside games/dance. Wine and Tequilla tasting at the Grand Moon, the new Flowrider, singing in the Lobby bar and the nightly shows. We had adults, teens and preteens in our group and no one got bored.

Room: Almost all of the rooms on the Sunrise side have been refurbished; the big clunky Jacuzzis have been replaced with smaller, more efficient ones. Still not something we use, but it’s there if you are into that. Amenities in the room are outstanding with top notch CHI products (shampoo conditioner & lotion) and professional hair dryer/ flat iron. We did not have any issues with supplies (towels, soap, drinks) and even got a different towel art display daily.

Staff: This is the MOST important part of the trip. The staff at this resort is what MAKES this place… While everyone was overly friendly, warm, smiling and ready to serve you at the drop of a hat, the following employees outdid themselves in providing outstanding service..
Alma- Beach waitress at Sunrise… never missed a drink in our hands.
Luis Gonzales- Golf cart driver extraordinaire- most friendly and fabulous driver. He made sure we got to where we needed on time 
Rene (vacation planner-Sunrise) thank you for finding us and booking the much needed transportation.
Rosa-(vacation planner- Sunrise thank you for all the attention you gave us to book our activities. You are wonderful.. We will see you in November.
Xochitl Esquivel- I can’t say thank you enough for getting out of your way to help us with our vacation . We will see you in November too. 
Miguel at the Flowrider… thank you for making sure everyone had a safe good time

Big hugs to the animation staff, who made us laugh and entertained us with games: Daniel Trejo, Marco Cortes <3, Jose Luis, Felix, Nelson, Cezar Trejo, you are all exceptionally talented. (I am sure I am forgetting a couple of you- sorry)

In all we love it so much… We are going back in the Fall.

TIP: This resort is huge and it takes some time to get to know where everything is, if you have the opportunity to find out what it offers before going, you will save yourself some time. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Room Tip: The north side of the Sunrise section is quieter, but still close to the pools/areas with most activ...
