Most courteous staff members. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and spacious and well stocked with liquor and beverage, oversized fresh bottles of water each day, a step down to a double jacuzzi tub, an outdoor patio with cabana beds and chairs, nice linens on bed, big closets and huge bathroom. Lots of pools, quick walk onto the beach. Our buffet breakfasts and lunches at Moon Palace were super and so were the staff, especially Adrianna, Omar and Edgar. Bus service until 2 am to transport us to NIZUC, SUNRISE AND GOLF COURSE AND SPA. You wear a wristband from the moment you arrive. ALL YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK 24/7. Huge complex!

Room Tip: 86 BUILDING. We were on first floor and our friends across the hall had adjoining suites with a dini...

Went to Moon Palace and stayed at Nizuc for 7 days. Trip started off bad. The front desk could not find our confirmation number and gave us the wrong rooms. We had to stay in another room for the first night and then our normal room after that. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR MANY GUESTS. It also took well over an hour to get to our rooms. They make you sit down with a cordinator who wants to sell you packages for the future. We had Carmen, she was aweful. We had to tell her at least 15 times what we had already scheduled. She was only concered with booking the Update Tour. Clearly, she gets some sort of commission. It got so bad with her, we had to go to management and was done with her for the vacation.
The food was up and down all week. The Italian rest. at the golf course was great. The Chinese rest. was okay. The resturant at Grand was aweful. We all had steak and it was terrible and we all didnt finish our dinner and left. Gross! We also had breakfast several times at the buffet at Sunrise and Nizuc and it was fine. Nothing bad or exceptional.
Our room was okay and spacious. It was right on the beach, which was great. However our room was never cleaned the same. It was always at odds times of the day. It could be 8 am one day and 2 pm the next. A few nights our bed was never turned down. also our door was broken. There were cracks all in it and it needed to be replaced. They did provide hair dryer, hair straightner, iron, soaps and other things which was nice.
The beach was gross. No one swam in the water all week and i found out why. The water is nothing but grass and trash. I snorkeled one morning and it was nothing but grass, no fish and they was trash all along the bottom. They had to have guys sweep the beach every morning to keep it somewhat clean.
The resort is safe however it is by itself. You have to drive 25-30 minutes to Aqua World or town to do an excursion. There is nothing to do activity wise on the resort, except Golf. They do have a Flow Rider but it wont be turned on for another week. That will be nice when its ready.
The Spa was exceptional. We had a couples massage and it was good. Very quiet and private, professional spa.
Also one of the draws was the 1500 Credits you get when you book. However what they dont tell you is all the things you cant do with it. They say you can use 300.00 towards the Gift Shop, however what they dont tell you is the 300 is only for cigars and liquor. The 100.00 credit towards Silver is only from a specific case. Be sure to read online what you can do with the credits.
Overall the Hotel needs to get a better system of booking rooms and check in is way too long. We would go back to Cancun but would probably stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: try and get the 3rd floor rooms right on the oceanside

This was our second visit here , as we have been to this hotel 5 years before. Just had to return as the food, service, location, room is absolutely fabulous. The staff cannot do enough for you. From service on the beach to everybody saying "Ola" that you met. The food in every restaurant that we ate in was superb..especially La Trattoria by the Golf complex. 5 star or what! The only complaint we had was the decorators at 8am but, was not affected the whole trip ( 10 days) and would not recommend Los Caporales in Grand...food beautiful , but waiter needs to learn social skills! Cannot fault this complex, from free shuttle buses downtown to the friendliness of 99% of staff to quality and presentation of food and service.Nothing is too much trouble and they will make your trip as pleasurable as possible. Best hotel in Cancun, and thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: On our first visit we were in Palmera in Sunrise with an ocean and garden view. This visit we were at...

Top Hotel, quite chilled atmosphere, top service, food good but I've had better on other all inclusive holidays, we had issues with our wedding package which the wedding dept was very helpful in resolving our issues caused by uk travel agent Thomas Cook,
Our rep Stuart was a complete waste of time and made no effort at any point to help, his only interest was selling excursions and washed his hands with our dilemma (our wedding package cost £3k on top of holiday. I recommend you book the complimentary wedding then add/change the things you want like colour theme, horse and cart, fire works, as you can use your resort credit for such things, and you can be sure that the resort wedding co ordinator will give you the attention you deserve.
Rooms great with mini bar and spirits,
I have 2 faults with this hotel;
A) the shuttle bus from moon palace to beach palace and sun palace runs only 3 times a day with the latest returning 9pm, taxi fare is approx $60usd to cancun centre
B)the night club does it's best to hide premium branded spirits and don't like making shooters unless you tip,
Ps prepaid to be on the menu for the Mosquitos , and there's lots of crocodiles wondering around!

Room Tip: All rooms are spread over 3 floors, I would recommend you ask for the grand lobby as this is a newer...

Simply the best

this was our 2nd visit to the Moon Palace and we have already booked for 2013.The holiday started when we arrived at the Nizuc, we were presented with a warm friendly welcome, a carnation and a glass of bubbly, The Porters were fantastic as well as the staff at reception especially Anna when booking in.
we stayed at the Nizuc for the 2 nd time which was fantastic, great food, excellent choices of restaurants, Chinese at the Golf and Spa was one of our favourites, as well as the main restaurant in the Nizuc Lobby especially for Lunch the chef there was my favourite, I cant remember her name but she was lovely .. We must give a special mention to the other staff who made are holiday amazing,Jaqueline,Maria, Luceritomaribel,Karina Velazco,Ruth Cisneros and Adriana Rarina from the sweet and coffee bar at the Nizuc. Jose Guadalupe in the lobby bar at the Nazuc. Yasmin,Anna,Hermelindo and Angelino from the pool area at the Nizuc.
Roll on September 2013

Room Tip: I don't think you can get a bad room

Just got back from 5 nights at the Moon Palace and wanted to share some thoughts.

First, the resort is HUGE. Three different sections, 3 different main pools and tons of restuarants and bars. The Sunrise section does have construction going on, but no big deal. Be prepared to walk a lot or take the shuttle buses.

The best thing about the resort was the service. Absolutely awesome. The staff catered to your every need. You wanted something, they got it. The meal service was great. So friendly and polite. They were a pleasure to be around.

The worst thing? The food. It was just OK. The Oriental restuarant at Sunrise...avoid it!
The seafood restaurant by the water at Sunrise was just plain and bad. No taste to the food whatsoever. The breakfast buffets were pretty good but that's not hard to mess up. We tried many other restaurants and the food was just average. I don't think they know what "medium-rare" is.

The pools were nice. The water was a little cold but I don't suppose they heat it during the winter months. Swim up bars were nice and each pool and/or section was nice. Nice little splash park for the little ones too.

The resort credits...hmmm, just a way to get you to spend money. We took the "free" ones that were no brainers like the tequila, cigars, skin care. Sucks that you have to pay tax, but oh well. The credit for the silver/gold was no good. Nothing had a price tag of less than the credit and I wasn't about to spend money on WAY overpriced jewelry.

The SPA: Had a message. It was not very good. Nice facility, but the massage itself left a lot to be desired. And many people in out party said the same thing. Again, the price of the services was WAY overpriced.

The beach: a lot of seaweed and the water was not blue and/or crystal clear. Spent 2 mins on the beach and went back to the pool.

I've been to better all inclusives in the Caribbean but this one is still pretty good.
There are many choices in Cancun and I'm glad I tried this resort. But I'd like to try others if i go back someday.

Half-way through my second week-long trip here. Came with my wife and another couple in the spring and have now returned with my father and a golf buddy. It doesn't feel like an all-inclusive resort ...the quality of the service, food, drink, and amenities feel like a 5-star hotel where you are paying top-dollar for everything. All of us agree it is tremendous value. You might pay a little more than other resorts, but you get a whole lot more.
Just did a hotel tour and got to know the staff a little better. Nelson, Tatiana, and Karla are all so personable and seem to love their jobs and are a pleasure to interact with.
The golf courses were a lot more busy than last time so I guess word is spreading about this tremendous value. I wonder how long it will last?

Room Tip: Sunrise if you have kids (kids pool and activities there). Nizuc if you're adults and want a lit...
