“Best All Inclusive Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

Went on this as a relaxation/chill out holiday 2weeks 28th Sept 12 stayed in the Sunrise over looking the Mini-Golf, sun on balcony in the afternoon Rooms are 1st class, food is amazing the facilities are 2nd to none, the staff are so helpful and friendly they certainly put staff in this country to shame.
The Resort credits are great to use although slightly difficult to understand what you can use them on but check this out at the start of your holiday
My wife said the Spa treatment was the best she has ever had.
We ate in all the restaruants the standard of food was excellent in them all as was the staff.
This is the best All-Inclusive we have ever been on and will certainly be going back anything else would be down grading

Room Tip: We think all rooms are the same some will be with different views

Just returned from this wonderful resort, their biggest winning point is their staff ........all who work non stop to ensure that your stay is the best it can be!!

There is a amazing range if foods and snacks all readily available at all times of the day, something for everyone!

Rooms are amazing, clean, spacious and very comfy.

The only downside to this resort is the beach and the resort credits......

the beach is covered in seaweed and although they try and clear it,, it remains a big problem and sea is unswimable due to the amount of seaweed!!! although the pools sooooooo make up for this as well as the free bus to the sister hotel with a beach to die for!

the resort credits are a bit of a con as you are very limited to where you can spend them in the resort eg 400 in spa (treatments are better then beauty side!!!) but unlimited on golf!!!

In the whole thou a fantastic resort with fabulous staff!!!

I stayed at Moon Palace for 4 days, Oct. 4th - 7th. with my wife. R&R was our mission. Very pleased that we booked our stay in Nizuc. The Grand and Sunrise had construction going on. We had a lovely room overlooking one of the wedding gazebos and gardens. The staff especially Jose Humberto were helpful from the onset. We never had any problems with staff or anyone trying to sell us time share or anything else. So glad we went with our gut feeling after reading other reviews. We primarily enjoyed the Mangler Restaurant with kudos to Carmen the manager for going above and beyond. The entertainment and bar staff at the Nizuc pool were always happy to stop and chat even if you didnt want anything. I enjoyed pool volleyball everyday while my lovely relaxed. Our biggest disappointment was the beach. Great for walking not so for swimming. Sea weed was the reason for our dislike. Our best moment was having pictures taken by Ingrid Diaz a kodak rep with smile market who was passing by. Our return flight was 5:35pm. The resort had no problem with us keeping the room for a couple of extra hours. Oh.... Make sure to get to the 'Noir' night club. Newly renovated at the Sunrise. We had an awesome time.

Room Tip: Look at photo's from recently visited guest to help you know the current conditions of the resor...

Any one looking for a relaxing, refreshing holiday when the winter hours creep up need to go to this place. A big thank you to the management and especially the staff for a fantastic time. Every bartender, waiter, waitress, chef, people behind the curtain, even the golf buggy guys were excellent. I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I visited Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort for a wedding. The resort was beautiful, but particularly worthy of note was the superior level of service. From the moment we arrived until the moment of our departure, we were greeted with smiles and warm hospitality from nearly everyone we met. Orlando, at the Brazilian Steakhouse (located in the Nizuc section) was particularly attentive and his sense of humor kept us entertained during the groom's dinner - an added perk. Also, I attended a morning yoga class in the Sunrise Section of the resort during the Friday of my stay. Even though I was the only student who showed up on that particular morning, the yoga teacher Mr. Lopez was extremely accomodating. I enjoyed his unique style of yoga, which incorporated some Tai Chi movements along with standard yoga poses. And a big "thank you" to Gerson Morales, one of the bell boys, for going out of his way in order to get me back from the Golf / Spa Area to the Nizuc lobby. Our friends' wedding was dreamy. Overall, a very lovely trip!

I'm going to make this quick since most reviews tell the basics. Very nice resort and the service is excellent. I've been to Mexico about 10 times total and the Mexican people are always very welcoming and warm people. This resort is no different!

I gave this resort three stars because parts of the resort are in need of a major renovation. See my pictures and you will understand. Pictures do not lie. The good thing is that they are investing $55 million US dollars into the resort right now, but if you are visiting anytime soon, the investment is bad. Major construction! They should actually close the Sunrise side while working on it. If you are visit soon, do not stay on the Sunrise side because of the construction. The construction is in the lobby, by the pool, by the rooms, near the beach. It's unavoidable right now. Restaurants are closed because of the construction and the lobby bar is closed.

Good food and very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Do not stay at the Sunrise side until construction is done.

While we are currently wrapping up enhancements to our property, please rest assured that they will have no impact on the overall guest experience. Our property is very large and there are plenty of amenities for all our guests to enjoy.

We stayed at Moon Palace in Moon Grand section for one week in September with my husband and 19 yr old daughter.

Resort Credits
Wet N Wild & Dolphinarius If your are doing the dolphin swim and Wet n Wild ( do them on the same day as next door to each other ) I suggest you book a morning dolphin swim I didn’t realise this when I booked. . When you book Wet n Wild the bus takes you at about 8.30am and brings you back about 3pm. We knew dolphins and Wet and Wild were next door to each other but our swim wasn’t until 4pm so we had to take a taxi back. Also you don’t next to exit Wet n Wild there is a entrance behind the main bar near the lazy river where you can walk between the two. We loved the lazy river and the wave pool, food was ok pizza, burgers chips etc, it was all inclusive too so you can’t complain really. The dolphin swim was amazing and great fun.

Spa - I had the deluxe pedicure which was fab, our daughter had the deep tissue back massage and nail extensions.

Isla Mujeres - was the amazing. You leave by the bus at the hotel and join the boat in downtown Cancun. There you can book the trip around the island, I highly recommend this it was great, once we docked at the Club where there is Dolphin Discovery is, you can see the dolphins and the manatees there on the front. Theres an all all inclusive bar, restaurant and pool where you can spend a few hours if you don’t want to take any additional tours. We joined another boat ( all though the same company ) to do the tour around the island ( think it was $25 each lasts about 90 mins) they served free beers and topped them constantly. We docked at Playa Norte where we were able to swim in the most amazing aqua blue crystal clear waters I have every seen, we were even served beers in the water was total paradise. We then continued round the rest of the island and back to the Club, we ate lunch then our daughter had a 5 mins one to one session with the dolphins and got 4 pictures for only $20. We we couldn’t believe as the pictures at Dolphinarius were grossly overpriced so we didn’t buy them, so she had an another dolphin encounter and pic’s for a bargain price. We then left the Club and went to the main shopping area and spend about an hour shopping before boarding the boat to head back to Cancun. The boat ride back was hilarious - great party atmosphere for all ages, the staff entertained us and had us all dancing and giving free tequila shots for the adults. We all agreed that was our best day trip. We arrived back at the Moon Palace about 5.30 - 6pm.

The beach is a real disappointment, we had read reviews and knew it wasn’t the best, so we had our beach days at the Beach Palace instead.

Thomas Cook Bar Crawl - was great fun think that was $75 each, all inclusive drinks and we went to Carlos & Charlies,Mandala, Sweet, and ended up at Coco Bongos we had a great night.

Flight we flew with Thomas Cook and I was disappointed with the in flight entertainment, its on a loop system, so no choice of films or the play pause option. We have flown long haul many times and this was the first time we had this sort of inflight dated system. We had a ipad with us so watched some films that we had downloaded on the ipad instead.

Our room at the Grand was outstanding, spacious, clean, modern. It had a massive king size bed, a wet room shower, twin sinks and a jacuzzi. The balcony was spacious with a bed, tables and chairs There is a mini bar which is filled with Coke/pepsi/sprite/juice/water/beer/ as well as several optics with Vodka, Whiskey, Tequila etc....

Tipping - We always take $100 one dollar bills, give a dollar per bag for the bell boys, $1 round of drinks and $5 for the evening meal. We had our favorite meals at Bambu and La Trattoria restaurants at the golf course and you can book days in advance. If you have a meal at the golf course or need to get to the spa you can request a golf buggy from the bell boys to take you.

Overall we had a great holiday. The hotel was great however we go to the Mexico to spend our days on the beach so for this reason alone we doubt we will return to this hotel and will probably end up going back to Grand Palladium in Rivera Maya has a great beach and great food and easy access to Playa Del Carmen.
