“Had a fabulous time with family and friends”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

I recently stayed here with my family in September 2012, we had such a great time made so many great friends and friends for life. Hotel was really great, rooms were great with massive HOT TUBS, optics, satellite tv which my partner made great use of when i used the gymnasium. No complaints about hotel or Cancun except for the mosquito's (which was not the hotels fault) as my son in law got seriously attacked by them, this then caused him to stay in the next few nights as he was bit alive!!! We swam with dolphins which was amazing! 1 of group ended up with a toe infection so could not swim but enjoyed the watch from the side of pool. There is 3 sections to moon palace we were located in the grand which was luxury especially to us as we are not used to this kind of treatment. Our friends were staying in the middle part NIZUC this part was loud compared to Grand but we headed over there to meet our friends we walked over there in 15 mins. The Sunrise was over 30 mins away but there was great entertainment a great american gentleman singing and his friend on keyboard we really enjoyed this, the nightclub was also located in sunrise and boy what a place! My partner used the Spa and got his hair cut they made a great job. Spa was out of this world they really make you feel relaxed (i think this is why he went again) The music was great mostly dance music but we all enjoyed this esp after hours but we left around 12 as we couldn't handle anymore dancing! I would definitely recommend MOON PALACE to everyone as the hotel was amazing we had such a great time and made great friends that we hope to visit soon. Thanks to all at MOON PALACE for a great stay love from the McSwiggen Family x

Just came back from a wonderful time at the moon palace, the only bad point was the construction work being carried out but there was loads of places to go to get away from it, the shows are like going to a west end show very professional indeed, the staff could not do enough to help, everyone was so friendly, you would find it hard to fault this holiday because there is nothing to fault it, this has without a doubt the best holiday we have ever been on, if your looking for a relaxing holiday that everything is taken care of its here, we will be going back for sure next year and the year after that

We have just got back from our honeymoon in moon palace September 2012. The hotel is an amazing place to stay, we stayed in the grand section, i could not fault this at all. There is only 1 restaurant in the grand section but just a 10 minute walk to the next side there was various places to eat. There is also a bus that runs every 10 minutes to take you to each side of the hotel as there is 3 sides. The pools on the grand side are out of this world with lots of entertainment to do during the day. Alex, Alfredo and Miguel where amazing the 2 entertainers and the bar man, the cocktail list is a must! The rooms are massive with jacuzzi baths in each room, they also have optics and a fridge that gets refilled every day. The cleaners are a bit of a pain and sometimes don't come or come at 5/6pm when you are getting ready so have to turn them away. Be careful of leaving money out they will take this and think it is a tip. Use the safe provided.

About the resort credits, if you booked before April 2012 you do not have to pay the 11% tax as we where unclear before we went. Do not listen to people who say it is impossible to use them all, we had the maximum amount to use and used every last $! You can use the credits for:
Dolphin swim ( DO NOT LISTEN TO THE THOMAS COOK ADVISOR!!! HE WILL TELL YOU THAT IT IS NOT WORTH IT BECAUSE OF GROUP SIZES ECT SO THAT YOU BOOK WITH THEM. WE WENT AND IT WAS AMAZING YOU DO SO MANY ACTIVITIES WITH THE DOLPHINS AND YOU HAVE 8 MAXIMUM TO A GROUP)
Golf lessons and rounds
Wet and Wild ( WHEN YOU BOOK THE DOLPHINS THERE IS NO TRANSPORT INCLUDED SO DO THE WET AND WILD IN THE SAME DAY EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE WORST WATER PARK I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IT MAKES UP FOR IT BECAUSE THERE IS A BUS PROVIDED.)
Photo Shoot
Tequila packs
Cigar packs
Spa and beauty Treatments - A MUST!!
Upgrade of your room
Upgrade of wine choices
Upgrade of wedding

There is a bus that runs at 12, 2 and 4 to the Beach Palace in cancun. You can only spend 4 hours there before the bus picks you back up so try and get all your shopping done in 1 day as it takes around 20 mins to get there.

The beach at the moon palace is not great and the red flag was up at all times because of jelly fish but as we are not beach people this did not bother us. If you are, take the bus to the Beach Palace this beach is amazing.

The moon Palace is too far out of cancun and cost around £40 each way into cancun centre so if you are wanting to go out at night if will be an expensive night out. The entertainment at night is very poor. It starts at 7/8 and finishes at 9 leaving you nothing left to do. There is a club on the sunrise side but it doesn't start until 10 and the last bus back to the grand is at 11 so a walk back would take around 30 mins depending how drunk you are :) The club is only on a Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday night. The restaurants are great but is the same things served every day. Would advise booking into the Chinese and Italian at the golf course the best 2 places at the resort to eat. Men do not forget your trousers!! As our room was on the ground floor the first night it flooded because of the rain but the staff where more than happy to move us if we wanted. The weather was amazing, people say September is a bad time to go but we had 2 days of rain maximum it was red hot all the others.

Other than the night entertainment i have nothing negative to say about this hotel. The staff are amazing and could not do any more for you. Well worth the money and would recommend to anybody. Not so much for families though.

If anybody has any questions feel free to email me bec.gomm@btinternet.com

Enjoy your stay :)

Room Tip: Rooms in the Grand side are much bigger and quieter around the pool compared to the nizuk where lots...

I just returned from our wedding at Moon Palace at the end of September 2012. We brought with us 21 guests, giving the resort alot of business. First, three of our guests had reservation issues. Moon Palace had them checking out two days earlier than what we paid, which prevented them from using their resort credits in those first two days until the matter was cleared up..at least so we thought. On the day they believed one of our guests was supposed to be leaving, an employee barged into our guests room (who just so happened to be naked from just getting out of the shower) and asked why he was still at the resort. Straightening out the other two guests reservations took up time from our vacation everyday. Even on the day they were actually scheduled to leave, they still had Palace transfer records incorrect creating issues on getting back to the airport. However, the most disturbing issue for us and we may sue, is that we paid for our wedding package in advance IN FULL. However, when we went to check out, our bill had numerous charges that we had previously paid on our purchase order before we even arrived. We also signed a purchase order to have our entire $1500 resort credits be applied to the cost of the wedding package. This is what was on the purchase order and this is what we agreed to by signatures. At checkout our bill did not itemize everything. They lumped some wedding package charges which amounted to $3K and itemized others. We could not get an answer on what the $3K was for despite arguing with the front desk and calling the wedding planner. After we get home, we asked our wedding planner Lilly to explain what the $3K was for and what happened to our credits. When she sent me an itemized invoice, is was different than the one from the front desk. The wedding planner added costs of an excursion we did, but so did the front desk. If the wedding planner included this excursion cost inside the $3K lump sup line item on the front desk bill, there should not have been a separate line item on the front desk bill for the same excursion outside the $3K. If they had not shuffled our credits around, AND if they had NOT included excursion costs on our wedding invoice (which was NOT itemized), we would not be fighting this issue right now. We are not letting this go. This is a shell game where Palace Resorts is multiple businesses within the "umbrella" of Palace Resorts. When I complained about reservations, we were told we had to speak to Apple Vacations. When we needed to straighten out shuttle service DUE to incorrect reservations, we were told we needed to speak with Palace Transfers. Apple vacation reps are never at the resort, which they claim to the contrary. You will never see management walking around in order to discuss a list of issues, everything is so segmented for the employees there that they cannot see bigger pictures or resolve comprehensive issues that may cross "departments" at the resort. Our wedding was delayed by 35 min..leaving us outside in suits and a wedding dress in extreme heat, all because our violinists that we paid for in advance, couldn't make it to work on time.

Room Tip: if you choose Moon Palace, keep it simple without alot of excursions or wedding package..it will ove...

Beautiful property, 3 resorts in one.We returned to this resort because we really enjoyed the great service, beautiful location and wonderful treatment from the staff. We stayed at the Grand side which was recently renovated. At first it seemed too quiet but I came to really enjoy the difference. When we wanted more noise, action etc we took a 10 minute walk to the nizuk side.

Room Tip: Ask for a ocean or garden view.

We went to the Moon Palace in August and had a fantastic holiday. There were 4 of us in 2 rooms.
The rooms themselves were enormous. We stayed in the Moon Grand which was quieter than the other 2 lobby's which suited us and there is a shuttle bus going between the 3 lobby's constantly. The food was excellent, some places better than others but that's normal. Everywhere we went the service was impeccable and done with a smile. Our daily routine was going around the pool at Los Tacos where we were served by Louis and Blanca who were the stars of our holiday. Nothing was enough for them and Louis daily cocktails were wonderful.
All In all a great place to stay and I've nothing negative to say about our stay. It will live long in the memory :-)

We returned to the moon palace after honeymooning there in 2001 we promised ourselves we would return after having such a wonderfully time then we were not disappointed if it was possible the moon palce is even better now the food and staff are all amazing, some highlights on our trip to the moon palace are the Italian restaurant at the spa , the pools around the moon grand and the pool entertainer , beech side meal at the beach palace , all the staff who work there nothing was too much trouble so friendly make you feel special. Used the resort credits on dolphin swim and spa treatments and tequila package could not spend it all as some items have a limit on the amount you can use but was a great addition to our holiday there is some building work going with improvments on in the sunrise side but the resort is so vast it had no affect on our holiday thank you moon palce we shall retun in the very near future mr and mrs fisher room 5915

Room Tip: Rooms at the moon grand are all brand new
