From the first time to the last time, and all the visits in between, the Marriott Casa Magna was a great stay every time. The food was great, the drinks were satisfying, the staff was top notch and the hotel itself was beautiful. Clean rooms, fresh towels and many things today give no reasons not to stay here. If I could visit just once a year that would be amazing. For now I will cherish all the memories that I have accumulated thus far and await my return...

This was a unanticipated surprise! They should have really let the guests know, because I found out completely by accident when I went out on my balcony around midnight and noticed the people on the beach and saw the turtles.

2-3 very MINOR complaints.
1) Its an older building built in a different time when no one carried electronic devices around so access to outlets is minimal. Times have changed and we need easy access to outlets to charge devices!
2) Nice 50+" HD plasmas but without a HD feed, why bother? Standard Definition broadcasts on a HD TV look HORRIBLE!
3) The hallways of the Hotel Room areas is open air...so the top floor is a freaking Sauna!!!!

That being said, my corner Suite had AMAZING views of the ocean and the south stretch of beach. Provided a perfect look out for when the Turtles came out of the water to dig their nests.

I was there over the 4th of July weekend and apparently this is the start of the rainy season. It did rain occasionally, but never for more than 30 minutes, and with the heat, it was a welcome cool down. This also meant that the rooms were a bit cheaper and when I checked in, they offered me an upgrade to the corner suite (top floor) for a discount at $79 a night. A done deal since I had paid for my rooms with points!

However, since July 7th was election day in Mexico, no restaurants (outside of the Hotels/Resorts) were allowed to sell alcohol that day...not a big deal for me and might be why the place wasn't overrun with college kids.

We went to Marriott CasaMagna Cancun Resort in March 2011.This hotel is ideal for people who are seeking a peaceful and sophisticated vacation. The service was great, the rooms were very clean and the location is just perfect; walking distance from great restaurants and entertainment.

We just got back from our five day vacation in Cancun and I have to say that we really had a great time. The location of this hotel is just perfect n the staff all around are very nice n helpful. We had booked a king size bed and when we got to our room it was two queen instead so immediately we called the front desk n they gave us a better room with king size bed. Hotel only has one elevator working which is just a matter of a few minutes waiting till the elevator gets you to your level. Elevators don't have any a/c so is really hot n humid. Also ladies don't even bother to fix your hair because the humidity is so bad. The beach is really beautiful n the sand is really fine. We included breakfast in our packet n it was delicious they have so much food to choose from. Drinks every where are so expensive that my husband n I went across the street to a 7eleven n bought waters n a few beers for less money. Taking the bus to get to dinner or shopping was not a problem at all they charge 8.50 pesos which is about 75 cents n we always felt really safe. Taxi service is really expensive. They charged us 25dollars to take us to the airport. The hotel does not provide a free shuttle. Restaurants around hotel are great!! Thank you to all the people at the hotel for making our trip so relaxing n fun especially Leonardo at the capilla restaurant for always helping us with directions to where places were at. Israel n Beatriz at front desk, Yolanda at the pool service were amazing. I would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: All rooms from level three to level six are facing the ocean, the other levels are not.

very nice hotel. rooms were beautiful, pool very nice. i loved the community jacuzzi. it was a little quiet when compared to other hotels i went to, but peaceful. there were some nice restaurants in the area and the bus stop was right in front of the hotel. although there was not a lot of action while i was there, im sure it is a great spot during spring break

Just arrived back from staying two weeks at the Marriott CasaMagna, and what a stunning hotel! The first thing that impressed me was the size of the lobby and the beautiful chandeliers, this was before i saw the pool area which was massive, brilliant size with plenty of room for guests without feeling too close to other people.

Great sized guestroom, with a huge balcony and bathroom with plenty of space for clothes and personal bits as well as an in-room safe which is also handy. Room was always cleaned and spotless, the maid always left cheerful notes for us which we needed to get translated, it was cute.
We were allowed to use the spa showers on our day of check out, so it meant we could still enjoy the pool also it was nice to know the luggage is safely locked away and always guarded in a special room also free wifi in the lobby which was very useful.

The location of the hotel was perfect, and a good distance from all the clubs and bars so was quiet. Bus stops directly outside the hotel and it was about a 5min bus ride to the La Isla shopping Mall which was great and had loads of shops and places to eat or you could stay on the bus for a further 5mins to get to the main bar area. The concierge was very helpful in advising how to get around. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

If you want a relaxed holiday with great facilities and service then you wont be disappointed with the CasaMagna - plus from overhearing comments about Casamagna vs the JW Marriott next door it seemed the Casamagna was the preferred option, excellent value for money and a much better pool :)

Great hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful stuff. The food in in-house restaurants is somewhat pricey but check out the 90 peso pasta in the Capilla Steak House very filling along with free bread. A lovely surprise--we were provided with a personalized desert and champagne to celebrate our 46th anniversary. Avoid the sports bar--food was awful! The pool was nice and clean and rarely crowded, Opt for the breakfast buffet nicely done. The room was clean and maintained well. We definitely will be back.

Room Tip: Lower level balcony ocean view is a great room. For an inexpensive meal have vodka penne pasta in th...
