We had our annual incentive trip in this hotel and I must say, it was a very positive experience. Breakfast was very good, rooms were large and room service was very fast. Close to the beach, large gym and swimming pool. Very nice staff!

We just returned from a second visit to the CasaMagna. The resort still has great beachfront and a wonderful layout. A few cosmetic updates would bring it back to its former glory. As another reviewer commented, where are the exotic floral arrangements that once graced the lobby? Also some of the lobby furniture could use reupholstering and the bed mattresses could be replaced. These are minor fixes and wouldn't stop me from returning. The room rate was excellent for peak season. I agree that the food is expensive, but with the special room rate I couldn't complain. They also offer 2 for 1 cocktails in the bar from 4-6 pm. I thought the concierge staff was very good especially Antonio. The bellman were also nice and very helpful. One thing I can't get enough of at the Marriott Resorts is their gelato--it's the best!

Stayed for a week and was upgraded to a great 4th floor room-- could t give 5 rating cause pool, wifi, expensive food. Patio door lock was lame. Dead bolt is useless as using std rm key can still open door so use top metal slide lock. Pool doesn't have any shade and umbrellas are old and can't be used on windy days. JW has a lot better pool ! WIFI doesn't work at pool but is great in rooms and lobby. Food and snacks are super expensive. Although platinum get 2 free coffees/ day. Use 7/11 and OXXO market across street for groceries, alcohol, and ATM--- ATM at hotel has huge surcharge. ! Very quite and no night life like many other full-service Marriotts but Senor Frogs is not far.

I go to Cancun quite often for business and vacation, and after staying in many different hotels, I have to say that this is one of the best ones (if not the best one!). Rooms are cozy and comfortable, the gym is fantastic, and of course pool and beach areas are amazing.

Being a Marriott member for many years we appreciate its standards you can count on. The Casa Magna was our first exception and did not live up to what we are used from Marriott. The staff was friendly at the checkin. We had a room in the third floor and before we left we wanted to make sure the balcony door was closed and locked. We soon realized that the lock was broken. We also discovered a connecting door that had only a security lock on the other side. That does not really help to feel secure. Another suprising fact was the attempt to get us signed for a tip that was already included in our breakfast. Once we discovered the scam we refused to hand over the already signed receipt, asked for a new one which enraged the waiter. For this hotel such a behavior from the staff is unacceptable. In summary we won't return to this specific Marriott. It clearly is overpriced and bears the scent of a cheap Spring Break landing.
