We spent one night here the evening before an early morning flight out of Cancun. I would never stay here for any reason other than it is close to the airport. The Courtyard Marriot is just as close to the airport; I will stay there next time airport proximity is my priority.

**We were awaken repeatedly throughout the night by both the freeway and hallway (other guests) sounds- the hallway and room floors being all tile amplify all noise
**The food is edible but horrible- we had dinner and breakfast here but wish we had skipped both
**The free airport shuttle is a private car (max capacity is 3 guests) and the driver blatantly requests being tipped when he drops you off
**Wi-fi access was inconsistent but tolerable for one night

Room Tip: do not get a first floor room- you hear everything in the halls

Stayed there twice recently - 1 April & 13 April 2013. First time we had a room with a very, very noisy air conditioner which kept us awake as the compressor banged on and off. Avoid Room 206 therefore. Second stay absolutely no problem. Check out AC before accepting room. Excellent breakfast (included). Dinner very acceptable too. Bathroom and beds fine. Very convenient for airport prior to and at the end of our trip round Yucatan.

Clean and nice hotel, but the restaurant closed too early. We arrived at 10pm on a Saturday night. There are no restaurants around and the one the in hotel was closed. We walked to a 7/11 for some food. Great first experience, I hate to have that effect their review because the hotel is clean, new, and otherwise very nice, but the lack of food is an issue. Travelers are a hungry breed... what can I say.

Also, keep in mind to arrive while the hotel shuttle is still running. The Cancun International airport completely scams people on cabs, they monopolized the service and only allow their insanely expensive option. We had to pay $37 for a cab ride from the airport to the comfort inn. The ride took 6 minutes. I can get from O'hare to downtown Chicago for $37. It's an absolute scam, plan your transportation ahead of time!!

We would have given the hotel 5/5, but when an air conditioner is essential it shouldn't be so loud! Not even a mini-split, it was a huge contraption below the window. Earplugs are a must-have.

Otherwise: great room, great bathroom (towels could be better), great serve-yourself ample breakfast included in the price (we paid about $60 with CAA rate). We had booked the shuttle from and to the airport so that was free (just an employee in a VW car, not a van). It's ideal for a one-night stay when all you need is an affordable hotel near the airport and don't want to go into Cancun or need an early or late shuttle, which was our case.

Room Tip: Turn on the air conditioner before you accept a room. Maybe there are rooms where the unit is quiete...

Spent just one night here as we were too late to catch the ferry to Cozumel. Staff were friendly and helpful, room clean and bed very comfy. Breakfast was good, just help yourself. Only complaint was the air conditioner was noisy but we were so tired it really didnt matter. Just watch out for the taxi prices, the people in the airport say they are the only taxi service and they basically charge you a fortune!

We stayed here the night before an early flight out. We thought it would be a good idea since the airport was so close. We caught the ADO bus from Playa del Carmen to the Cancun airport, but had forgotten to book the hotel shuttle far enough in advance, but didn't really mind as on the map the distance to the hotel was about 3 or 4 kilometers, so should be a cheap taxi, right? WRONG. Inside the airport there is a monopoly, one taxi company that charges what they like - "$35USD or 350 pesos". The biggest rip off ever, their justification being that a taxi into downtown costs that much, and there was no other way for us to get to our hotel - either bus/taxi into downtown and taxi back to the hotel from there "or walk", After already having spent a month in Mexico, we refused to accept their ludicrous deal, we eventually got them down to 250 pesos, which was still exorbitant for a three minute ride.

Once we arrived at the hotel, at about 8am, we were so glad we could check in that early, expecting to be able to only leave our bags at reception. The staff on at reception were lovely and super helpful. The room was clean, spacious and modern looking. It had all the facilities needed, and SUPER comfortable beds (although one complaint is that the air conditioner was very noisy, so it was hard to sleep with it on). As we had booked reasonably far in advance on Booking.com we got the room for a really good rate too (so I guess evened out the taxi fare). The complimentary breakfast looked good (could order off a menu I think), but we didn't have time for more than a yogurt and fruit.

We decided to spend the day at Isla Mujeres, a taxi from the hotel to the terminal was another 200/250 pesos, and we wrangled one for 150 from downtown on the way home (no buses run that way). The next morning, we needed to be at the airport at 5am, so the complimentary shuttle wasn't running anyway, the hotel had called us a taxi - ANOTHER 250 pesos. This was certainly two of the more expensive days we had had in Mexico!

So all in all, nice place to stay but probably only worth your while if you are taking advantage of the shuttle, if I had been aware of this first I would have rather stayed in downtown and gotten up that little bit earlier to taxi to the airport (and caught the ADO from Playa del Carmen into downtown, rather than the airport).

After a long flight in all I wanted was a clean room, bed, shower, AC, and some quiet. And that is exactly what Comfort Inn offered. It was very clean and relaxing. Great location right next to the airport. I recommend anyone staying in Cancun and not wanting to be downtown, to check this place out.
