“Lots of fun!”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

After reviewing the charter companies on Tripadvisor, I chose Fernando and Charter Fishing Cancun and am so glad we did! To book the trip, I communicated with Fernando via email, and it was quite easy to book and ensure everything was set!

My boyfriend and I had the Aissa out for 6 hours and it was a complete blast!

Our transportation was arranged, and we arrived at the marina to meet with Fernando. He introduced us to our crew and then we were off! The crew suggested we sit up front in case dolphins are spotted, which was fabulous, but the trying to get to the back of the boat once we reached our destination was another matter haha! It was a little rocky out there.

The crew cast out for the live bait and then they bait the hooks and toss out to see what we can catch! Once a fish is hooked, we are given the rods to reel them in. They will remove the catch from the hook and re-bait and re-cast. For anyone who isn't a fisherman, this is really nice and easy. They also tell and show you how to reel in properly.

Drinks were a plenty on board. They supplied beer, soft drinks and lots of water.

We caught 2 tunas, 1 king mackerel and an amberjack. We had 3 sailfish. Yes, that's right, 3 sailfish!! One made it to the side of the boat before the line snapped and the other two were only 12 feet out before we lost them.

FYI, we compared the pricing to the ones at the resort, and Charter Fishing Cancun was cheaper. Definitely recommend Fernando and his crew!!!

“Bottom fishing”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

We chartered the Cap Ferrat for a 6 hour trip (very reasonable price). We had 6 people who wanted to do some bottom fishing for a "sure thing". Fernando had transportation set up, met us as the dock, and introduced us to the crew. We left promptly and went out to catch some bait. After catching bait and a short run to the spots we were on the fish. We ended up catching 49 fish that day and our arms were tired after all the fighting! We caught strawberry grouper, queen triggerfish, red snapper, barracuda, bonita. The crew was on the ball with making sure our hooks were baited, lines untangled, fish unhooked. We never went long without having a bait in the water and it was literally "fish on" the second the bait would hit the bottom. We were catching fish so fast that the crew had to stay on their toes to keep our lines baited and in the water. A few of our friends were inexperienced with ocean fishing and the crew really did a good job assisting them and teaching them what to do and how to do it. The only thing is I wish we could have fished longer! When we got back to the dock they cleaned the fish for us and we took them back to our resort where the chef prepared them for our dinner! We felt very safe the entire time. This charter service is very professional and I would recommend them to anyone.

“Fun at Sea!!”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Researched deep sea fishing charters prior to going to Cancun and used "Charter Fishing Cancun" (Fernando) based on the reviews I saw on Trip Advisor. I was not disappointed! We were in Cancun for a corporate event and I booked 7 of us for a 4 hour charter on the 46' Cap. Ferrat. As mentioned in other reviews, Fernando responded timely and kept in constant communication...which gave me confidence about their service. We caught 7 fish (6 good size tuna and 1 spanish mackeral)....it was a good day since everyone aboard got to reel one in! Capt William and the two crew members were very personable and enjoyable to be around. Thanks to all - Tracey.

“I can't blame them for the weather.”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

It was very easy to communicate with Fernando by email and set this fishing trip up. The crew and boat were nice but we ran into heavy rain and high seas. They kindly offered us a partial refund if we wanted to cut the trip short and we took them up on their offer.
