Description: La Habichuela Sunset Surpasses your expectations. Welcome: A unforgettable sunset awaits you. They say its a museum turned into a restaurant. Aside from its bold and modern arquitechture, the ambiance is based on the mayan culture with the intent of giving our customers a unique experience surrounded by masks of ancient kings, a 9 meter mayan column from floor to ceiling and a 30 meter hand carved kukulkan wooden snake. Our open garden area next to the lagoon allows you to dine with the stars and the moon. But our biggest pride being our exquisite dishes, from traditional yucatecan recipes to sophisticated caribbean/mexican fusions. We have a vast variety of international wines as well as national. We follow and maintain our founders philosophy of providing prompt and detailed service since 1977. Dont miss our mayan rituals shows during the week that will transport you in time to the ancient mayan civilization.

“Great Service...nice lagoon side view”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

We happen to visit la habichuela sunset one afternoon by accident, we got off the bus and it began to rain heavily, the spot we were trying to go to was closed. We were soaked and just wanted in anyplace at this point, and we happen run into to this nice looking building. It is a very classy place with a very nice view of a small marina on the lagoon. Our waiter and service were excellent. We had the New York strip and the steak tacos with fresh in house tortillas. The NY strip was very good, but not the best I had in cancun. The steak for the steak tacos was great but lacked a certain something at these prices. Overall are experience was a very good one,and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new place to try, and a nice upscale dinner in Cancun..

“Poor food and very slow service”
Reviewed December 23, 2013 via mobile

Waited over 2 hours for bad food. Venue is nice. Outdoor table lovely. Kitschy show that was poor. Food was really bad! There were 8 of us who ordered different dishes and none of us thought that the food was good. Make a different selection!

“Delicious and unique”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

This is one of our favorite stops when we visit Cancun. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is one of the most beautiful views and decor I've ever experienced. One side of the building is windowed walls overlooking La Laguna Nichpute, and the Mayan decor throughout is gorgeous. The cuisine is Mayan and Mexican fusion. Try the huitlacoche crepes, the lobster bisque, or the catch of the day prepared Tikin Xix bbq style, or with fresh veracruz sauce. Amazing! The dessert menu is extensive with flambeed crepes and of course the Cancun staple - Mayan coffee prepared tableside and served flaming! The wine list is extensive and inexpensive if you choose a bottle from Mexico or Chile. The margaritas are stellar - made with fresh squeezed juices, Grand Marnier, and heavy on the tequila - just the way I like them. :-)

“Like some one said overated”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

A fusion cuisine restaurant with a great view of Cancun’s lagoon.
Reviews found for the place does not represent a good mix of fusion and would say it is rather average.
The service is adequate although I went with a bad impression of the headwaiter because of his reluctant way of serving us. Their sea food is good but the price is too high, their plates cost about us$ 35-45.
