Description: La Habichuela Sunset Surpasses your expectations. Welcome: A unforgettable sunset awaits you. They say its a museum turned into a restaurant. Aside from its bold and modern arquitechture, the ambiance is based on the mayan culture with the intent of giving our customers a unique experience surrounded by masks of ancient kings, a 9 meter mayan column from floor to ceiling and a 30 meter hand carved kukulkan wooden snake. Our open garden area next to the lagoon allows you to dine with the stars and the moon. But our biggest pride being our exquisite dishes, from traditional yucatecan recipes to sophisticated caribbean/mexican fusions. We have a vast variety of international wines as well as national. We follow and maintain our founders philosophy of providing prompt and detailed service since 1977. Dont miss our mayan rituals shows during the week that will transport you in time to the ancient mayan civilization.

The food and drinks are very good here. But what makes it special is sitting outside in the garden area on white chairs watching the sunset. The gardens Re lovely with plantings and arranged artfully. Three times a week there is a short Mayan dance show which we enjoyed on a Monday evening.

We went to this restaurant as it was near to our hotel (Westin) and based on Tripadvisor community feedback. It is positioned on the main hotel zone strip near the more livelier northern end with a fantastic sunset view from almost every table. The menu is extensive with an emphasis on seafood. We opted for a seafood platter for two (US$120) and mojitos. Both were pricey but delicious - well recommended. The waiters offered us homemade bread and pickles before the main course arrived and we were served the "mayan kiss" drink for dessert. We will be back to sample the banana flambe and the surf 'n turf menu options! Waiter service was excellent - warm, friendly and attentive.

Very well recommended.

A must visit. Delicious food and a view of the Lagoon that will leave you breathless. Ask for the "beso maya" drink.

Just get in to the entrance is a majesty experience. The Mayan art around gave me the feeling of been in a magical place, the view over the lagoon the sun setting,,,I was entirely happy with my meal from beginning to end...

We wandered into this restaurant knowing nothing about and the unassuming front entrance completely belied the stunningly beautiful interior and courtyard beyond. We had no idea! We were tired and just wanted a nice meal. Instead, we ate huge, delicious, grilled lobster tails and enjoyed a five star meal with top notch service. Little considerations like the amuse-bouche whitefish pate and palate cleansing lime sherbet between courses and professional and attentive service added to our overall experience. Everything we ate was delicious and fresh and we loved the indications on the menu specifying cuisines (Mayan, Caribbean, etc.) were thoughtful and helpful. We wanted to try more! We had the opportunity to try both the house soup and the lime tortilla soup and they were excellent! We both had lobster and loved every bite. It came with three different butters including one with almonds steeping in it; this was pure decadence and new for me. We were offered several choices of fresh breads and rolls throughout our meal. Our cocktails were delicious. We never waited or wanted for a thing here. This was the highlight of our eating experiences in Cancun, hands down.
