“One of the best Cancun zone beaches, good high-end large-scale hotel”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

We have stayed at many hotels in the Yucatan, several in the Cancun hotel zone. I would say the Hyatt beach ranks as one of the best if you like waves. Not only is it a nice hotel (clean, great service, typical 4/5 star amenities) but it is at the end of the zone so it is also somewhat less crowded and pretty clean.. If you like a very calm beach, you should stay at the Grand Coral Beach across the street. We have stayed at both, but liked the Hyatt better. It just had a better feel to it than the F.A., which seemed very snooty California-ish.
We loved Hyatt restaurants, pools, and the wonderful balconies that had great views (we were in two different rooms at two different times).
Everyone is very nice at the hotel, as is typical all over Mexico.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the ocean front rooms unless you like the party noise of the hotel zone. The ocea...

We had an amazing time!! The beach was the best in cancun. We had a sea view, not sunset view.Every night we left the slider open and we were lulled to sleep by the ocean crashing into the shore!!! We had a bali bed all except the last two days.Found really beautiful shells. The service was outstanding !!!! pool was cold so it wasn't filled with kids. the lunch and dinner restaurants were 5star (cheap) with the double dollars. We had a wonderful time. If we would have had a sunset view it would have been perfect...next time! (The floor and up and you cant hear the air conditioners.)

Room Tip: sunset ocean view room!!

We recently completed an event at the Hyatt Regency Cancun. The hotel is located in an ideal location with a nice beach, good pool facilities and easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants along the main drag of Cancun hotel street. The hotel is round so every room has a view of something decent. The best rooms face south east. The rooms are basic, but clean and decent. The check-in took much too long and they will hit you up on buying a 100 dollar credit for food at the hotel which they will match for a total of $200. It is worth it if you plan to eat at the hotel at all. Nothing is cheap there. Breakfast is $25 per person, but an excellent buffet. The Grill restaurant was SUPERB with great service. I highly recommend it, but expect to spend about $80 for a couple. The Deli was the best priced with decent lunch food and good gelato, but again, expensive. $5-$8 for a basic gelato.
We had one couple in our group get an expensive ring stolen out of the locked, in-room safe. We believe it was someone within the hotel as they only took 1 ring and left many other more expensive items. Rule of thumb: DO NOT BRING JEWELRY TO CANCUN! It isn't safe, even in a locked safe. This hotel is not a luxury hotel. It is pretty basic, but decent. On the 14th floor, we had random funtioning water pressure. I also recommend using the standard Cancun taxis. Hotel taxi's which are good for 7-8 people (Suburbans) are about 2-3 times more expensive. We enjoyed our trip and enjoyed this location. I would consider going back, but would also consider something a bit more luxurious. For the price, this was good.

Room Tip: South east side has the best views of the beach and ocean.

I really liked the hyatt regency cancun..our room was very nice with an incredible view of the gorgeous beach and sea. The sunsets were amazing. the staff were very nice and helpful..The pool is very nice but you can;t see the beach or ocean from the main pool..which really didn't matter to us because we spent our time on the beach. the drinks were great and reasonable.

Room Tip: Get a club room

Located perfectly when you dont have all inclusive, near restaurants and bars. A few hundred meters from Coco Bongo,Hooters and restaurants but the noice doesnt come all the way to the hotel. We payed for seaview and its worth it, no noice on that side. On the other side you could here airconditioning machines for the neighbour hotel. They also had a special deal , if you buy credit US100 you can spend double that amount, totally worth it! Good breakfast, nice poolside snacks and cheap drinks when you have the credit. This hotel is also located in a place where the beach is almost a private beach so its nice and peaceful with clear waters. Rooms are nice and the staff is friendful, Nothing bad to say about this hotel, would recommend to everyone!

Room Tip: Seaview a must.

I thought the hotel was nice and clean. We did get the $100/$200 deal for food. You buy the first $100 of food and they give you another $100 to spend on food items. That was a good deal because their food was a little pricey but I thought it was very good food. The staff was nice and friendly. The only thing we had a hard time with was it was kind of noisy at times and the shower pressure was low at times. There were days when the shower completely stopped a few times and then a trickle shower inbetween the stops. I would suggest getting a room on a lower floor so you get better water pressure. We were on the 14th floor so the water pressure wasn't as good. Other days it was just fine. Otherwise, I enjoyed my time there.

Room Tip: Get a room on a lower level for better water pressure.

This hotel was great. Right on the beach and the perfect part of the beach which is more sheltered from the wind then the rest of the beach. Big room with great view. Lots of pool activities and friendly staff. it is up the end of the beach where the night clubs are but also some nice places to eat. rooms were no noisy.
