We visited the hotel from 11/7/12 to 11/18/12. This was our 4th time at the Crown Paradise, and the 2nd time staying in a Honeymoon suite. There's only one word that describes our room.... WOW !!! Unbelievable ocean front view, two huge lanai's and a smaller balcony overlooking the pool area. Reyna kept our room spotless and the fridge was stocked every day with whatever we asked for. Some people will wonder why two people with no children would come to this resort... The answer is simple... It's the staff here at the Crown... How great is it to come to a resort once a year and be remembered by the staff?? Even after hundreds of thousands of other guests have come and gone?? The front Lobby Bar crew, the pool bar crew, the buffet crew, and the waiters in the specialty restaurants all bend over backwards to make your stay at the Crown the very best. It's a shame that more people don't get a clue and tip these people for the great service they give. I personally witnessed a huge table of people in the outside dining area of the buffet ordering drinks from the service staff, there is no bar in the buffet folks. That server walked to the pool bar for every drink they wanted two, three, four times. When they were done they simply walked away and didn't leave him a dime. Unbelievable ! We were having an after dinner drink in the Crown Club and gave the server $2.00 when I overheard the table next to us say "look they had to pay for a drink, I thought this was an all inclusive?" Most of the people working in hotels only make $5.00 to $7.00 USD a day in wages. They rely upon tip money to feed their families and Cancun isn't exactly a cheap place to live in case no one noticed.

The pools were the perfect temperature and clean, even though we watched people taking plates of food into the pool with them... Seriously, what were they thinking... or perhaps better said they weren't thinking.

The Mexican Restaurant, Los Gallos was our favorite. Ismael is the best waiter on the planet!! The French restaurant didn't disappoint either, great food and impeccable service. The buffet had an assortment of choices whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The weather was great, a few rainshowers, but that's to be expected in the tropics.

From our beautiful deck overlooking the beach every morning, we watched people lay out towels on chairs as early as 6AM... and not come back for 3 or 4 hours... Same at the pool, I counted 15 people one day at lunch time on the bar side, but every one of the lounges were taken? They sat empty for 2 and 3 hours. The Crown needs to come up with a solution for that definitely.

My husband and I love the Crown and we'll be back again next year! Mucho Gracias to Miguel, Ernesto, Roberto, Karen, Luccio, Ismael & Eduardo Taxi #1901 and all the others who made this trip more memorable than the last!!! We love you guys !!!

Room Tip: Building #2; Adults only floors if you can do that.

As a returning guest to Crown Paradise, we were so excited because we love it there. My children were very young, the first time we were there, and now, they are pre-teens. Our only concern is that the pools are too cold for anyone to enjoy. This has been a comment that I've noticed on trip advisor several times by many reviewers. It's seems like such a simple request to make the pool temperature more enjoyable, considering we spend our entire vacation sitting by the pool. As much as we enjoy our stay here, we will strongly consider staying at a different location in Cancun.

I am a return guest and the second stay was the same as the first, good friendly family resort. The front desk workers are the only big downfall! You have to bring all small bills or you can not get change to tip with and the front desk employees said then don't tip we can't help you. There is a ridiculous law that prevents them from giving change to help out anyone tip their well deserving staff. My guess they are hourly paid and from the nasty remark not relying on tips to pay their bills. If you want change ask the servers or bartenders they know what needs done to get tipped. We had Israel for our breakfast server and he made our day start great! The bartenders at the pool know how to keep a smile on your face! We were not able to go into the ocean due to red flags but the beach was fun still. The swimming pools are ice cold so you can only swim a few minutes to get cooled off then you start to freeze!! The food is wonderful at the Italian, Mexican and breakfast restaurants. The smoke at the steak house fills the air and makes it unbearable to stay. We used the kids club for our 3 kids and it was well worth it! Thanks Pam for being able to handle Roman and Syrus!! They didn't want to leave. All I can say is for the price we paid we had a great time and the resort should be thankful for their employees who make it what it is!!

I honestly am baffled but the reviews that were negative. We were just there Oct. 2012! It's fabulous!
Cleanliness- The rooms were always fresh and clean. Linens were white and the bed was very comfy. I saw some reviews complaining about the change of towels. A note in the bathroom, that they will change the towels every 3 days, unless you ask for more often. This is to be greener.. If you want more or new towels, just ask, and they will get them to you quickly.

Service- excellent! Everyone was so friendly! Always with smiles and quick service.

Rooms- I recommend upgrading to a room with the jacuzzi tub. 5th floor had a gorgeous view. Also,an upgrade to the 8th floor lounge which had a small AM buffet, evening bar, big screen TV and computer to use for free. There is a time limit on it and there are usually others waiting.

Pools - There is a large infinity pool that overlooks the ocean. It is for all ages. There is also an adult only pool with a swim up bar. Loved that too! There are also other pools and kid water slides.

Food- The main buffet is huge. There are lots of options. Lots of fresh fruit and salad options, there are several stations with ethic choices. The food in the main buffet was good. Nothing to complain about. It is not gourmet nor is it a 5 star restaurant, but it is good. There are other buffets throughout the day all were good. You will not go hungry!

Restaurants- You need to make reservations the day ahead for the restaurants you'd like to try. The food in all we tried were excellent! With excellent service. We ate at the Italian, Mexican, Seafood and the best.....the French restaurant! I cannot express how fabulous it was. This one is for adults only. You don't have to,....but we always tipped and were glad to do so. Service was excellent.

Beach- Beautiful! There are cabanas to keep out of the sun and lots of lounge chairs, PLUS a bar right there Heaven!

Excursions- 2 I highly recommend. 1) A trip to Isla Mujeres. You take a boat to this quaint island and can shop, go to the beach, eat, also there is the dolphin experience here too where you can swim with dolphins. Amazing and fun. 2) Mayan Adventure - Xtreme snorkle. Zip line, repel, swim in a cave, and snorkle with sea turtles! We saw many! They also give you a great lunch and take professional pictures to keep these memories forever.

Blowdryer- The rooms have a blowdryer but I found the low to be too low and the high to be WAY too hot. If blowdryers are an issue for you, bring one or buy one. It was not a big deal though.

Outlets- they are the same as in US no prob with our chargers etc.

Money- We got some pesos but really didn't need them, all taxis and the busses take american money as well as merchants.

Bus/Taxi - The bus is $1 US dollar. There is a fee chart at the front drive that gives you an estimate of what a taxi would cost to that location. Just be aware. We only had 1 taxi driver that tried to get us for a ridiculous amout. We laughed because we knew better. He went from $50 to $20 real fast,...just be informed before you leave to shop or dine elsewhere. Bus is the best value.
