We stayed for one week in a studio room with 2 double beds (and a murphy bed in the living room if you wanted it) on the 8th floor with a beautiful view and spacious balcony. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, toaster & coffee maker and seating for 4 people. The bathroom was all marble and beautiful. We liked the walk in closet area between the bedroom and bathroom which had a dresser, hangers and a safe deposit box. The first day there, we had trouble with the safe (it kept beeping and we couldn't open it), we called downstairs & the maintenance man was there within 10 minutes to reset it. The room had central air, but it was cool enough at night to have the slider open and the wind blowing- listening to the ocean and not being bothered at all by bugs. We are avid walkers, so every morning we walked (toward the direction of the high rise hotels) on the walking path to go to the little grocery store (approx a 2 mile walk there) to pick up a few groceries for breakfast or lunch. You can also take the bus downtown to the grocery store or to Walmart for a few pesos or take a taxi. The beach was clean and there were plenty of tiki huts and umbrellas for shade. The water was warm and calm. There is plenty to watch with the boat traffic, jet skis, banana boat rides, and people walking the beach selling mangos, doughnuts, cotton candy etc. There is also a tiki hut with 4 hammocks to relax under. We had an issue where my boyfriend broke a tooth and we needed to find a dentist. The concierge found us an employee who referred us to his dentist- he put us in a taxi and gave the taxi driver instructions. The tooth was fixed and in less than 2 hours we were back at the beach! We had the breakfast buffet once and also had the buffet for dinner a few times which was delicious. The outdoor grill served cheeseburgers & hot dogs & fries, nachos etc which hit the spot. There were also alot of pool activities (water balloon fights, beach bingo) We also went to the little restaurant next door which was spectacular. We took the bus to the "Island" or "Isles" to go shopping and walk around. My only complaint is that when you arrive, your bags are held at the door and you are seated to 'talk' to a salesperson. I was certainly not in the mood for those shenanigans as I was hungry, overtired, hot & sweaty (dressed in long sleeves), had a headache, was kinda shaky from not eating & had been travelling for over 12 hours. Once the woman realized we were already owners & didn't want to upgrade at all, she gave us meal & drink coupons & we were allowed to go to our room. For the rest of the week, the employees were friendly, helpful and bent over backwards to make sure our stay was wonderful. I can't wait to go back.
