Pik Nik. Take the R1 or R2 bus to Tulum Ave downtown Cancun right next to the Burger King. I had the burrito Vallarta and my husband had the best Asada tacos he has ever tasted. Great presentation and the prices are low compared with Hotel zone restaurants. The beer was cold and two for one. No ac but they brought out a fan and it was fine. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Pik Nik is a new Cancun favorite and I will return! The service is excellent! I ordered a Diet Coke and they were out of Diet and so they went to the store and got me one. Amazing. The food is wonderful and authentic as it gets. Give it a try!

We went in search of this place after reading about it online and locating it on MapChicks map. It is down a pedestrian walkway off of Tulum Ave. Walk next to the Burger King and you will see it easily. We went mid-afternoon for a late lunch (or early dinner) and there were only a couple other people eating. Service was excellent and the food was too! Every dish was enjoyed and the chips were served with a hot salsa, mild one and a pico de gallo. Beers are '2 for 1' which is 40 pesos for 2 beers - served icy cold! The total bill for 4 dinners and 8 beers was 480 pesos. Worth the bus ride to downtown - especially when compared with the prices in the hotel zone!! We will definitely be back here as there were many of our favorites on the menu. Vendors were just setting up along the sidewalks when we were leaving, looks like this is the area to come later for bargains on trinkets too. We did buy a couple shell bracelets from a vendor for $1 USD each.

We had the best experience at this place! The food was very tasty, you get free chips and salsa, and the beers were cheap (there was a 2 for 1 special at the time) Between our broken Spanish and the owner's fairly decent English he was able to suggest a few of the best dishes to try and we weren't disappointed. We stayed so long people watching and talking to fellow travelers the owner gave us all a free shot of Xtabentun (a traditional honey liquor) to toast the night. Definitely try this place if you get the chance!

We discovered PikNik four years ago via Trip Advisor. We have gone there each year since when we travel to Cancun. This year we even went twice. The food is authentic and delicious. Presentation is great, as is the service. Luis, the owner, is personable and thrilled, thrilled to see customers return. From the Hotel Zone, take the R1 bus to downtown. Its cheap and safe. Hope off the bus once you reach the municipal building on Tulum Ave. Walk behind the Burger King and there it is. Enjoy.
