“Awesome stay!”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

Hotel exceeded my expectations for an all-inclusive. Everyone was beyond accomodating and friendly. We were there for a week and want to give a big shout out and thank you to: Eduardo, Francisco, Jesus and David. They went above and beyond!

the room was great, the view fabulous!
the staff was super friendly and professional.
the restaurants were good, except the Mexican restaurant, which had terrible food (but good Margaritas!)
if we were to return to Cancun, we would stay there again.

Room Tip: we requested a king bed on a high floor, but we only got the 5th floor (there are only 10 floors, bu...

Recently returned from a 7 night stay at the Omni. Had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed the resort. One thing that made the time we spent there was the extent that the staff goes above and beyond. Our trip was not without a few hiccups, but the level of service made them very small.

When we checked in there was some construction going on with the roof, so we weren't happy with our room. David, our porter went above and beyond coordinating a different room for us to make sure we were happy. Rather then sending us downstairs or to call someone he handled it all. He was stellar and continued to greet us with a smile each day we saw him.

I would defn recommend the Pina Colada for lunch especially. The restaurant is right on the beach, but covered so still under shade. Half of the tables are in the sand (vs. a floor) which makes it very authentic. Again, the service was one of the reasons we kept returning. Francisco was awesome. Always smiling, wanting to give us anything we needed and we had a few laughs with him - and how many waiters do you say you gave a hug to when you leave?

In the afternoon our favorite spot was the Kuku bar....we never called it that, it was the "swing bar" for us. One side has swings in the sand and the side has jacuzzi. It holds alot of people, but is right on the beach and a great location. Our main man there was Eduardo. We almost didn't go the day he told us he was on vacation! He was there with a drink before we knew we were ready for one and again a smile always and a hug when left.

We also golfed while there and the concierge Jesus was super helpful. We gave him some feedback (like don't golf at Pok ta Pok) and he was super responsive and looking for comments. Great to have the help and guidance from a local when we are out of our element.

The resort itself is nice. Different levels with pools and options on each. Right on the beach. Plenty of chairs and shade for those who want it. The main dining at night is a buffet, which was just ok. We enjoyed the pizza/panini place by the pool better. And many options for lunch. Only complaint was sketchy WIFI. So if you are looking to be connected 24/7 set your expectations. You can get in, but is best in the lobby bar.

Overall a great experience, but certainly made more special by some of the friends we made while there that happened to be on the staff.

The service was very good at the resort at most places. The front desk and Davinci was not. We would rate the resort at 4-5 on service but the food and room issues lowered our over all rating. We are Gold Marriott members. This is not in that category but it was a Expedia package deal. We did not get the room (king) we requested and was listed on our expedia reservation and also on out Omni select guest confirmation. We were told we would have to move "daily" until we just gave up and stayed in the two bed room. They also never mentioned that they would be tearing up the tile roof outside our room. We liked the Beach, The pools and many of the dining areas. Not clear on why people got sick on food. It was difficult to trace back and the front desk wasn't much help. The servers provided great service especially when you tip a few bucks!! We also "won" a free 30 min Spa treatment but they wouldn't except it at the Spa unless my wife spent another 30 min massage or the Gift shop attitude, business center computer use, hot and cold water in the shower. It was these little things that down-graded our guest experience and Omni Select Guest never responded back to me. The Pina Colada was great service!

Room Tip: Not sure I can help. They choose your room no matter what your confirmation says. Read fine print, T...

We had a family holiday here in February 2014 and we had the best 2 week holiday and can't wait to go back again.

The staff were so friendly and really looked after us and our son and that really made our holiday special and enjoyable.
Antonio and Erlinda in the pool bar, Aldo and Moises in viva Mexico, Oskar in la trattoria and Wilbert and Juan in the concierge consistently gave amazing service and were so nice to us and our son, made us feel so welcome. We loved breakfast at piña colada and Leonardo and Jose served us so well.

We visited the kids club and were so happy with the service there too, so accommodating, all of the staff were so professional and made us so welcome with a wide range of activities.

The bathroom was a little dated, the shower a bit weak but the rooms were spotless, pools were great, beach amazing and drinks flowed all day. The food is reasonable for the price and lots of variety but we found Da Vinci a little stuffy and food just average - they made it very difficult for us as we had a child. We preferred eating at Deva by the beach and service was fantastic.

We preferred the location of the omni as it was further away from the busy end of the hotel zone but found plenty to do nearby with a 2 year old. We took the buses easily and explored the area including the excellent museum next door and the ruins del Rey nearby (well worth a visit).

As a nice little bonus our 1 year old fished a pair of Gucci sunglasses out of the sea with his bucket! Nice!

Upgraded to a beautiful hotel room with a picturesque ocean view- the bluest water I have ever seen. Top notch service- constant stream of food and drink- the sushi surprisingly was a personal favorite- fresh and made to order. Waitstaff was so friendly and eager to please. Would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: Ocean view is a must!

Terrific layout - one of very few (if any?) of the hotels to have a casual restaurant, the Pina Colada (not just tiki bar) down on the beach. Francisco treated us well. Service throughout the hotel/resort is TOP NOTCH! Consuelo even anticipated our drink desires, while we lounged in our beach chairs:) Our server Antonio graciously prepared "to go" coffees, after our wonderful buffet breakfast daily. What made things really fun for my husband and me was the entertainment staff. Marco and Antonio were a blast gathering people for beach volleyball, and helping to keep score;) We played 6 games, alongside the swimup bar, where "fans" applauded good plays, and we could easily take time to "rest" with a drink! Antonio and Marco would later be seen leading water aerobics and getting the big entertainment for the night ready to go. What a treat. They truly seem to love what they do. We especially enjoyed the Sushi bar and new Viva Mexico casual restaurant, where Antonio (not same as before mentioned) brought us extra food choices when he noticed we didn't order enough for 2! Glad I treated myself to a beachside mini-massage. Her name escapes me, but ends with "___ia" ;) and she was highly skilled! We will definitely be back, and will probably bring our kids, as we noticed families having fun too...The only mark down is because we didn't get an ocean view room or one with a balcony. Our room smelled musty and the hotel was too full for us to get a room change. No one else we talked to had a musty smelling room, so that's good. Still WORTH IT - love the Omni Cancun!
