“beware! we got robbed!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2014

Hello all,

this is just a warning that the bad comments of this hotel should be taken into account.
We stayed there for 2 nights, and after leaving hotel we noticed some USD were missing, additionally a golden bracelet worth a couple hundred USD also.
We reported them but of course nothing was found, although it is possible to check the registry of cards that entered the room.

Avoid this hotel at all cost!!! I did not believe other bad comments, learned the lesson on my own dime. No solution to the robbery was given...instead only lies and a lot of time lost on the phone.

Nice vacations to all....somewhere else!!!

We had an awful experience. After the 2nd day of our 7 day stay the air conditioning stopped working. We talked to the front desk every morning and 3 times a day until the last day of our stay. They kept promising it will be fixed that day. The last time I asked I was told to "sleep by the pool" How rude! Not only was it not safe, but is was spring break!!! Not exactly the quietest time in a Cancun hotel. We had to sleep with the sliding glass door open - also not safe. The food was atrocious! We ended up eating made to order omelets and fruit every morning and lame hamburgers by the pool each afternoon. Tried the special restaurant twice and I have never had such bad food or service. It is the first vacation I have ever lost weight! The spa was a joke. All of the equipment was broken. On a positive note, I do have to say the wait staff was great and the hotel was kept clean despite it's tired state. The view from our room, the beach, and location were bar none.

On my last night in Mexico (insanely great trip, wonderful hotels and food, see my other reviews), I checked into (or tried at least) this hotel. On arrival my friends and I were told they had 'overbooked and out reservation could not be honored. Instead they sent up 15 minutes down the road to another hotel they assured us was equivalent (not, see review of BelAir/Cancun). I have no idea what the Flamingo is like--I can only say that their customer service and reservation policies leave a lot to be desired.

It could have been due to the time of the year but this hotel was full of college kids making lots of noise. The room with an ocean view was not really an ocean view but more the view of the podium with ocean at the distant. The air conditioner did not work well so the room was warm and humid. The fact that the balcony of this room is a connection to the second floor podium I did not feel safe leaving the glass door open all day to allow breeze inside the room when I was not in the room. The room is very old with damaged furnitures and ants in the bathroom. The hotel management was nice enough to compensate for the need to stay in another hotel for the first night of the hotel as they were overbooked and also was given free dinner for the duration of the stay.

When we arrived we were told that I didn't pay for all inclusive? So we were only staying here a couple nights before our flight so we paid another 200.00. Huge mistake ! Food was awful! There are restaraunts all around this hotel... We were upgraded to a room with free wifi? We had a great view. Our fridge had 3 beers in it? No not complimentary....left. Our toilet wouldn't flush and the shower was cold, sink wouldn't drain.... Pick another hotel!

We were planning to stay here a week and since the first two days, Air Conditioning stopped working and we have suffered in a hot and humid room and got sick. We couldn't even check out because they didn't allowed us to cancel the reservation...

Perfect for us!

Our stay was wonderful and just what we hoped. The property is in excellent condition and
very clean. The staff works hard and is friendly. Many speak only Spanish but they are
patient and will figure out answers to your questions. (We ARE in their country, after all.) Our room
was an ocean front Jr. Suite and yes the palm trees are still a little short but we could still see some
of the ocean. The refrigerator kept our things nice and ice cold. Showers are awesome for two, bed
was comfortable. The first level is rather noisy (a lot of tile, cement, etc) but we were up at 6:30 am
and things quieted by 11 pm.

We did not do the all-inclusive, so we did not eat or buy drinks. We prefer to run around to places and
the hotel is situated right next to the bus stop and across the street from restaurants, liquor, convenience,
and souvenir stores. For the most awesome seafood meal walk across the street to the lagoon side and head
north about 2 blks to Lorenzillos.

We did not use either of the pools but the adult one is nice and quiet. The kids seemed to love the big one and
adults gathered toward late afternoon for munchies and cocktails. The beach is beautiful with a lifeguard right
in front and fun waves to play in.

For the price we thought it was a bargain!
