This hotel consists of old buildings. The renovation is needed to be on-going. We chose all-inclusive option, and were pretty much disappointed with the quality of foods and drinks. The only menu we liked in this hotel was Pinacolada. A waiter of Albatros, restaurant with serving staffs, has followed us outside the restaurant, asking the tips. The bathroom in our room smelled of urine, and didn't have a hair conditioner and shower gel. Sometimes TV get lost the signal. You have to purchase the wifi if you want to use it in the room; if you are lucky enough to get the room close to the lobby you can get the signal from there but that one is quite weak..No clock in the room. Electricity outlet is far from the bedside. The air from air-conditioner is from the central, there is no air-conditioner in each room.
The beach is very convenient to access cause it's just behind the hotel, and a bus stop is just in front of the building. Staffs in the front desk are very helpful, good in English. All in all, aside from the convenience and cleanliness, this hotel is cheap and usable.

Fabulous hotel staff. Ricardo & Martin were courteous, helpful, and outgoing. Ocean view room (202) the only way to go! Conveniently located to mall across street with Margaritaville, Outback, Bubba Gumps, as well as spirits/beer, convenience food, and trinkets. KM 11 was directly in front of hotel for quick bus to anywhere. Rooms need some updating yet great value and the staff was tremendous from the front desk to house keeping! Even Santa flew the beach by helicopter! Did not do all-inclusive as our family likes to adventure around town. Went to a beautiful mass on Christmas Eve a few bus stops away. Sons went to Coco Bongo which they thoroughly enjoyed the clubbing & shows. Ricky at the hotel booking agency/events did a wonderful job for our family. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Ocean View 202

I love this hotel, low key, feels like an apartment condo, pay for ocean view, lagoon view rooms are not that nice, you'll be disappointed with the bad street view. Too bad the pool in front of the ocean is cold, some solar powered heater would be nice.
The location is perfect, no bars or loud concerts around. beach and palapas are nice.

The hotel is in a great location across from some restaurants and a short bus ride away from the bars and clubs. It's a great value especially if you don't plan on being in the room very often. We also opted not to go with the all-inclusive option since the food didn't look like anything to scream about.

My major complaint is that the room had only one outlet and you needed a converter if you had a charger with three prongs as is standard in the US. Our bathroom floor also continually flooded without any sign of where it was coming from which made the room feel damp and a little gross.

Well, the price is right however some of the rooms are a bit outdated and require maintenance. Upkeep to the hotel is lacking...but they have plenty of technicians to fix broken items when you call to the front desk so it kind of evened out. Just a bit annoying when the toilets/showers don't work very well. This property is outdated and needs some work but If you are looking for a deal for a family/friend event this is the place to book. They have 1 huge pool and a "warm" tub. Jacuzzi didn't work all that well and felt like warm bath water. However the beach front is by far the best part. You can use their beach all day long if you like and it is such a picturesque scene you wont ever want to leave. So overall this outweighs the outdating. Plenty of food and shopping to do within walking distance. We didn't end up doing the all inclusive food thing ($50 per day) but if you were planning on just staying at the hotel I suppose it would be just fine. If you have a car, they do have a very small garage you can park it in complimentary but its a bit tricky to navigate where to enter it. Just small cars, no trucks will fit. So if you rented a car you are able to park it in the lot; but wasn't much of a problem due to fact that most people visiting Cancun take public transit or shuttles anyway. I would totally book the Flamingo if I came back to the Cancun area. Its not brand new like a lot of the other hotels but it is a bit more affordable and definitely in a great area of the hotel zone.

Room Tip: I would ask for the 6th floor bc on this floor there is free WIFI, you have to pay in other areas of...

My first time visiting Cancun, I stayed at this resort in 2008. I recently returned to Cancun this year but I did not forget about the Flamingo resort. It had the best hotel staff, A great terrace overlooking the beach, and an accomodating place to stay. The food was also very good and it made for a great experience which made we want to return to Cancun, Mexico. You are also in walking distance to many places like shopping plazas and many great restaurants. I recommend this hotel for anyone who doesn't need 5 stars, just needs a nice and comfortable place to stay.
