You can't beat this place for the price - its got to be the best value in the hotel zone. It's a nice hotel - I felt its got a bit of character, though obviously not luxurious being a 3* As other people have said, its kept very clean and the staff are very helpful.

We upgraded to a seaview room also - when we hesitated on the price they came up with a better offer so its probably worth trying to negotiate on it. The view was awesome though - it was fantastic to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and look at that torquoise sea and pale sand. Plus any rooms at the front of the hotel are going to be noisy with 24-hour bus service, taxis and the bar across the road.

The room was a good size with plenty of storage space for clothes. I can't comment on the food as we didnt eat there. We prefer to try different places - there are 3 or 4 restaurants right across the road and quite a few in the shopping village about 10 mins walk away. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms will be a lot quieter.

The rooms were average, beds very hard and bathrooms average. Views ok and beach is nice and blue. However Food in the two areas you can eat is very poor except for breakfast. DO NOT USE THERE ATM!!!! Took $300 out and was charged $42 by the company on top of the local bank charges. The did indicate a charge of about 80 pecos or 7-8 us dol, but $42! Wow, if you need to use Best Day for the shuttle, make sure you book in advance and check in with Best day after you show up or you wont have a ride back to the airport. Yeah and he didn't care to assist me on getting there. $30 for a cab.

Room Tip: Stay next door at the Royal Cancun, worth the $

We stayed at the Flamingo Cancun Hotel and Resort from March 27 ,2011 until April 1, 2011 . We were delighted with our vacation experience ! We saw the staff working diligently to make the resort top notch . They were always cleaning inside and outside . The staff wore clean crisp uniforms . They were always smiling and tried to wait on the guests quickly . The 2 restaurants and grill by the large pool made beautiful presentations of the food offerings. All the staff involved with food wore 2 hairnets and a half mask over their nose and mouth areas . There were security personal posted outside the front of the complex , behind the resort at the beach , and inside the resort on all the floors . Our room was large and brightly painted with yellow and orange draperies and matching spread. There was always bottled water in the room . We hope more people will go there and help their bottom line . We would go back . They also had nightly entertainment for the guests . It is also in a great location on the strip , directly across from a mall and restaurants .

We had a great time. There needs to be a better variety of food. Some of the food I wasn't sure what it was. The staff was very friendly.

We weren't looking to go to Mexico but this came up at the last minute and the price was right. The hotel and service was very good; The rooms are average as yiou would expect a 3 star to be, but they were very clean as was the resort. The staff keep the resort, pool area and walkways very clean. The food was good although a much smaller selection than we've had elsewhere., There was always something new to try, and the snackbar at the pool was great.... hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, wings and nachos, cheese sauce and the best fresh salsa I have ever had. Does anyone have the recipe for this? I e-mailed the hotel but did not get a response. The beach was pure white and the water was turquoise. It was very windy so the red flags were up for most of the week; but we could still go in and enjoy the waves (the resort has a lifeguard on duty). The resort could use more umbrella huts on the beach as they were taken very early, and there are no palm trees to provide shade. We thought the hotel zone would be noisey but it was fine, and we enjoyed going to Margarita ville and the mall across the street. The resort itself is quiet in the evenings. We also took the local bus to the Market 28. The hotel provide a dinner at Senior Frogs which was a lot of fun, and an Internation dinner and show on the terrace one night. That was very enjoyable. Overall we had a good vacation!!

Room Tip: lagoon rooms face the street; get ocean upgrade

So I'm going to start off with always remember reviews are peoples personal opinions... some people might have gotten pissed about one little thing and then totally bash everything about the hotel! I went with 2 of my friends for spring break and even though the room wasn't a 5 star room and food wasn't 5 star we had an amazing time! The bartenders were amazing to us! We got to know all of them, so our drinks were nice and strong when they made them! The buffet is where I would recommend eating, the little restaurant on the beach was nasty! We didn't even eat our food, we left and went up to the buffet. This place was cheap when we booked it so we knew it would be an amazing place but the staff was great to us. We lost room keys and they never questioned us when we needed another one. The best part of this hotel is the beach! It is huge and they have chairs out on the beach(gotta go out early because they get taken fast)! The location is amazing as well! The bus stops right in front of the hotel($1 for the bus) and its a quick 3 min ride to the clubs and market place! I wouldn't recommend it for families because there really isn't any kid activities to do there. We met so many people from all around the world and everyone said they would be back for sure! All in all it was an awesome trip and I will be returning for next spring break!

Stayed here for three nights March 7th thru the 10th. Got a great last minute deal and at check in they offered us the $25 per night room upgrade. We asked if they could do a better price and got the upgrade for a total of $36 ($12 per night) by asking very nicely. The room was on ground floor and the sliding out door went right out to the pool, which I loved. Beds were lumpy and had holes in the sheets, not very relaxing.

However, the food was bad, really bad. The all-inclusive buffet was small and didn't have much beside salad and a few hot plates of food, the only beverages we could find was water. I've stayed in many resorts in Cancun and this was the first one that we could walk in and sit down at a buffet without anyone stopping by and asking if we needed a soda or something else, but it happened every time. We did eat at the nicer Italian Rest one night and the food was much better, but still not great.

Drinks were very watered down and at both the pool bar and the indoor one they only had one bartender working and they were very slow. Most hotels would have someone entertaining working behind the bar, but not here. They didn't seem to care how nice you were to them or how much you tip'ed for a drink (and I tip well when deserved), they were just slow.

No real entertainment or organized activities, Free internet in lobby was a nice plus.

Location is good, bus stop right across the street and short ride to major clubs.

Overall, for the money it was worth it, but there are much nicer hotels to be found for a few bucks more that provide a much better experience, if you are on a real budget and just want a beach it will do, but if you want a party or a place with real entertainment this is not for you.
