Temptations Resort and Spa in Cancun is located on a beautiful beach and off in the distance is Isla Mujeres. It is definitely worth a ferry ride over there. For just transportation only, which included free drinks on the way over and back, was $17.00 a person. We rented a golf cart for $36.00 and toured the whole island. I have read it is either 5 miles or 7 miles long. Definitely worth it to see the whole island. Water is just spectacularly blue, turquoise and so clear. When we were done, got to go swimming on the beach and wait for the ferry to come back. You can catch the ferry right off of the Temptation Beach-we rode on the Carribean Queen. Now on to the hotel. Very beautiful in the lobby. We took our own bags to our room and declined somewhat forcefully the guided tour. They are wanting to sell timeshares. When we got to our room, our breath was taken away. Beautiful room and the shower was just gorgeous. We got the run of the mill room so it wasn't something we upgraded to. The pool on the exciting side was great, water very warm but so was the ocean too. Couldn't believe how warm the water was. Pool had swim up bar which was nice-Closes way too early though, around 530pm. Food was very good; I recommend all of the restaurants especially the Tex Mex and the Italian. Wait staff are exceptionally friendly and nice. Went on a snorkeling trip thru Best Day travel. Very nice reefs and tons of fish which was great to see. The water was just a touch merky but other than that, it was great. Night time entertainment has a lot to be desired and ends early unless you want to pay to go into downtown on a bus and bar hop for around $40 a person. Beds are really hard, but we put the comforter underneath the sheets and that helped some. Expect topless women; I would say at least 75% of the women were topless which was ok with us, that is one of the reasons we went. Overall, the experience was spectacular. I have been to Jamaica, Bahamas, Hawaii and the Dominican Republic and by far, this was the most beautiful place I have been in regards to the water and how beautiful and breath taking it was. Met some nice people and continue to email one another and share pictures. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that wants beauty and relaxation with some fun and just laid back.

The hotel is very clean and modern and the service is the best I have ever come across. Our room was modern and the bed is huge! You get a mini bar that is filled regularly with beer, coca cola and water which is very handy. THere is also a iron and ironing board and hairdryer.
The restaurants are very a la carte and we ate in one every single night, you would pay alot of money to eat this way in this country and so it was worth the cost of the holiday just to dine at the restaurants. The bar at the night time is very lively and something is always going on, alot of interesting people. We spent some nights in the sports bar as its air conditioned and the bar man Pablo kept us entertained! You can play pool, watch the boxing or play on the WII. Of all the holidays I have been to the staff at this hotel were the most friendliest, I have never come across service like it. always entertaining and happy to help.
The sexy pool is always lively with games going on but you are never hassled to join in, we preferred to lounge around the quiet pool and chill in the jacquzzis. The beach is also very nice although there is alot of seweed which the staff do there best to clear up every morning i still found it to be a beautiful beach with beds on and hammocks.
Even thought there is adults there that are quite outrageous and loud this does not impose on you, I am quite and prefer to just relax but i found it no problem here at all, it was amusing people watching! Met some lovely people who i beleive we will always remain friends with. Would defiantly go back to this hotel possibly even next year! weather is fantastic and only had one day of rain for about ten minutes. Wish we was still there!

we had the most fantastic holiday.....

i don't undertand all these negative comments.....

i landed back in the uk today (17-sept-09) and was very sad the leave the resort....

i had read up on some reviews b4 i departed and got myself all in a mess thnking wot have i got my self into and what is this resort gonna be like so i was panicking all the way from gatwick to the resort....

well once i step inside the reception and the porter boys dealt with our bags we had one porter boy called helio who looked after us the whole holiday.. i started to ease a little cuz it looked like a 5 star resort... well we got to our room and the doubt kicked in again... our room wasn't what i ask for so i went straight to the recception desk and said i had booked a room with a sea or pool view and they changed my room without a fuss and when we saw our second room and the view the doubt disappeared....

the nxt morning the only welcome meeting i had was with the holiday rep...

no mention of a timeshare thingy...

the food was divine and the staff were always happy to please...

and it didn't make a difference on what colour band you had on they treated you all the same and that includes drinks...

we had one waiter in the buffet resterant his name was lucio... he was fab... as soon as he saw us walk in the door he would have our drinks ready for us on the table...

now the entertainment............

some of it was a bit sexy but i thought it was funny wactching people make a fool of themselves... some of the activities were just pure fun....
you were not pestered into joining in on the activities once you said no they never bothered you... we made good friends with the entertainment team even tho we didn't participate in any of the activities..

my overall rating of this holiday would be 5 star because they treated you as if you were in a 5 star hotel....

I'M HOPING TO BOOK AGAIN FOR NEXT YEAR.... I WILL DEFFO BE GOING BACK.....X

Our stay & Wedding was Outstanding at Temptation. Up grade to the ocean view. The rooms are much nicer. The food was great and the drink were first class. I loved the beach lounger. They were so comfortable. The Italian restaurant food was 5 star! They don't have elevator but they will bring you luggage to and from your room. So its not big deal.Don't rent a car from Payless!!! They are not at the air port. They will try to make you pay $25 a day for ins. on top of the rental price.Plus the people drive like a MANICA !! The bus is just 50 cents. They stop right in front of the resort and run about every 5 to 10 min. Don't go down town to the 28 market. They don't have prices on any thing and they all most ATTACH you to get you on their store. Go to Plaza Caracol mall. There are several shop there that have great prices. Some of them give you free beach bags if you spend over $50.. There was another super store right down the street from Caracol that have EVERYTING in it. Its close to CoCo Bongo. You must do Coco Bongo !! The show don't start till 11:30 and is on going till 3 am !! Its a very safe place !! Its a must do !!! Also go to Isla Mujeres and do the Sea Life discovery or the Dolphin discovery. The Sea Life you also swim with the seals & Manatees. Just a once in a life time experience !!!! One more thing Tempations resort when you check in they will send you over to another deck. They will try to set up a time to sell you a time share. They will give you a $100 gift certificate for the Spa or other things. If you don't want the $100 gift certificant Don't go they can't make you. It will take about 2 hours of you time.

My wife and I 42 and 39 have been to the Cancun/ Riviera Maya area around 2 dozen times or more and have stayed at most of the hotel chains there (Palace resorts, Iberostar, Riu, Melia, Dreams to name a few so we do have some experiences. I have been using TA for many yeasrs now and like to give back my experiences to help others find the stay they are looking for as we are all looking for different things on vacation. That said, I enjoyed my stay at Temptations, I feel the food was not quite as good as some of the higher end hotels I stayed at (but close) but you do gain in the activities by the pool. The pool is very active and not for everyone as they are sometimes crazy and if you are not very open minded can upset some people, I loved it though, The hotel was full capacity and many topless women and drunk people by 4 PM, bottoms do occasionally come off and you may see some steaking buts but no biggie.
The workers were nice, check in easy, my room was great and newly decorated, air conditioner worked perfect, mini bar with a few beers and sodas is a nice touch which is normal in most hotels, we never used room service but the menu looked good and plentiful. They have a gym on the second floor, it is small, my wife and I are avid gym people, she ran on the treadmill and eliptical a few time and I took the week off as it was not equiped enough for me and is most hotels in Cancun or anywhere for that matter.
The nightlife was good, so good we never left the hotel to go out to the bars...we have been to Coco Bongos, the city and all the bars many times and Paty-O's, the outside bar in the hotel was fun and hopping while we were there, it stays open until 5 with a chef grilling burgers till closing, nice for late night muchies, they had a live band two nights and DJ the rest plus other activities.
We've probably stayed at nicer hotels with better food and definitly a nicer beach but overall we had a great time and I would recomend this hotel to the people who like to have fun and are not snobish about making new friends and letting loose. And no I never felt like it was a swingers hotel, just real people having a good time.

PS...The hotel is not in the club zone, more towards downtown but very accessable by a .75 cent bus ride and only a few minutes.

We booked this stay for our 5th anniversary and were thrilled to be in Mexico. Be warned, they will spend your entire first day saying they want to treat you to a "welcome breakfast" Don't go for it, it is a time share presentation and they are very pushy. Tell them you don't eat breakfast. The location was great as it is right in the center of the "hotel strip". Our first room was completley uncaaeptable. It reeked of paint thinner as they had just painted. Not to mention, it was directly next to the night time hang out/open air bar so sleeping is not an option. They were nice enought to move us to a much better room. The down side is that this hotel is the oldest on the strip and the AC or lack there of is in serious need of upgrading. The food selections at the different eating places on site was ok. Spa was great! We spent most of our days gone to do outside activities so like I said, for the money, it was ok.

So after returning from Temptation a little under a week ago I felt I had to set the record straight on some of the negative reviews. My partner and I booked to go to Temptation as we were looking for a cheap getaway, we had read the reviews and had decided to ignore them and see just what this hotel had to offer.

The hotel had been reported in some reviews as a swingers hotel, which is fine if you are into that sort of thing (we are not), but actually after holidaying at this resort I would say you should not let this put you off. As an adults only resort it is bound to be very sexually charged and yes there were swingers there and yes there were lots of sexy games! But at no point in the holiday did we feel we needed to take part in any of these activities, there is no pressure from any other guests or the entertainment staff to get involved.

We had a fantastic week, drinking cocktails from 10am and eating in the fantastic restaurants within the hotel. All four al a carte restaurants were fantastic and the service impeccable. Even the buffet restaurant was better than most other All Inclusive resorts I have stayed at.

The beach and pool were fantastic. Although the water had quite a bit of seaweed in, due to the hotel being based closer to the mainland, the hotel staff did everything they could to sweep it from the beach.

The rooms were great, cleaned and sheets changed everyday, the beds were massive and obviously meant to sleep more than two!! ;-)

We have no complaints about the hotel and would recommend it to anyone going to Cancun as long at they have an open mind!

When can we go back?!
