“Amazing Staff!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

We had a great time again!!! The staff really made our vacation as they always do!! Thanks to everyone especially Armando front door and Hjulio front desk for our amazing rooms!!! Jesus our waiter who loved to tease my brother he really made us laugh!! Rodger our waiter it was great to see you again. All the bartenders, Edwin, Rodger and Alex for excellent service and great Tequlla shooters!!! The food and service was great especially at the Oysters! I was at the Sunset Princess in Jan. and the service did not even compare. Please tip well as they all depend on this money as their wages are very low. Just because it's all inclusive don't think you shouldn't tip!! It's a courtesy that says thank you!! The beach is quiet and relaxing. Never had a problem getting a spot! I noticed a lot more kids this time. There were a lot of drunk parents and unsupervised kids. There were lot of kids in the main pool running around. On the days it was too windy for beach we went over to waterpark. There were less kids there and quieter! I don't know why people were not taking them over there I have seen a lot of changes over the years unfortunately not for the better but the one constant is the amazing staff. That is what keeps us coming back. There really isn't any thing for adults without children anymore. We all huddled around the outside bar at night. Sometimes it was raining and cold!!! Kids were running everywhere at the indoor bar til all hours of the night!!! There was new management coming in when we were there and they are goint to put a lot of money into the resort and make improvements. Hopefully for the better this time!! Stay away from the Timeshare people!! It is rip off. They will make all these promises but once they have your money it is different story!! My brother and his wife bought a timeshare here eight years ago. We all saved about $500. each by booking online than through the timeshare. They tried talking to them while they were there about their new system. They didn't care about how much money they spent the first time but wanted another ten thousand dollars to change their contract. They more less told them to get lost. The closing man was very rude!! You are treated the same and recieve basically the same benefits when you book with travel agency!! I will be going back again and probably take the grandchildren but for an adult trip I will be going elsewhere. Too bad because the five of us really do love this resort, the staff and being right on the beach. I love kids but they need to come up with an adult only area. When we first started coming here there was a good mix of families and couples. There were activities for both and the bar was for adults!!!!!

The standard rooms are old, dark, dated and feel like a roadside motel 8, so make sure you book or up grade to one of the oceanview rooms. The staff is excellent, the food is good and the waterpark is worth staying alone. We decided to take a chance on this 3.5 star resort based on the waterpark alone and we weren't disappointed. There's not much of a beach but the pool area was nice and there were always chairs available, unlike some of the larger resorts where you have to get up super early to save chairs. A couple of people in our group did get sick but I think it was because the resort uses non-disposable plastic glasses and they dont do a great job of washing them, more a quick rinse really. I brought my own water bottle and only drank from that and I was fine. We brought some fishing gear with us and had a great time catching large sea bream and other types of fish right of the beach next to the Marina. We also found an old fisherman at the Marina who took us out for about 6 hours in his panga for $200. The guy at the resort sold 4 hour fishing trips for $350, don't fall for that, just walk over to the Marina and ask for "Mike" way better deal. We caught lots of fish, everything from large Trigger fish, yellow tail snappers to Barracudas. We also spent a week at a 5 star resort in the Mayan after this and found the service at the 5 star to be far inferior then this small little 3,5 star.

Room Tip: Don't book a standard room, opt for an Oceanview room

We enjoyed ourselves greatly at the Sea Adventure! This was our first official family vacation with our toddler (18 months) so this is written from the perspective of a family with a young child. The Sea Adventure was perfect for our needs and requirements.

Size: This can be an attraction or a deterrent depending on what type of resort and vacation you are looking for. If you are the type of person who enjoys seeing the same faces throughout the day, and making friends with the faces you see repeatedly, then this will be perfect for you. If you are the type of person who wants to be isolated with your significant other, or your family, and not interact with others, then this might not be the best fit for you. It's very hard to "get lost in the crowd" here. We didn't use our son's stroller for the first 4 days we stayed there. He got lots of exercise wandering around between the main resort and the water park.

Food: If you are expecting to have your choice of multiple restaurants where you can eat, then this is definitely not the place for you. I'm not usually the type of person who cares about the quality of food too much, as long as I can find something to eat and I don't get sick from it. Well, the one thing I have to complain about with the Sea Adventure Resort is the quality of food. Specifically, because you have your choice of one restaurant to eat at any given time. There is one dinner restaurant so you get what you get. On the nights that restaurant is closed, then the main restaurant in the hotel is open. They tend to serve the same foods day after day, with some small variations. If you are a foodie who's looking to be impressed and satiated, then this is definitely not the place for you!! Breakfast was the best meal of every day and we were able to find foods that my son would eat. Lunch, not so good, but I did discover that their fries are delicious. Dinner was the worst meal, and the worst meal I had that week was Mexico Night. Ironically, Chinese Night was the best dinner I had there! Even if food looked good, it often didn't have any taste whatsoever. I realize that for the price we paid for our stay that we shouldn't complain too much about the food, but we couldn't help but notice how much food is wasted by each person there. That will add up, and the hotel would actually spend less money on food if it was prepared in a more savory way. I solved my way around this issue by drinking as many of my calories as necessary- especially in the form of pina coladas. I certainly didn't starve during my week there, primarily thanks to those liquid calories! ;)

The Water Park: Fun, fun, fun! Our boy might be a little too little to fully enjoy it, but we big kids (parents) certainly did. And we took him down the slides on our laps so we all got to enjoy the big slides too. I love that they have little kiddie slides as well as the big tobbagan type slides. We toggled between the swimming pool and the water park, several times every day.

The room: We got a Junior Suite (room 218) which overlooked the ocean. Heavenly!! The view from the terrace is amazing, you feel like you could just reach out and touch the ocean. Since we spent a few hours of every day hanging out in our room while our son napped, it was perfect to sit out on the terrace enjoying drinks and sunshine, so we did not feel like we were missing out on anything. The room was clean and the AC worked great. We were very very happy with our room!

The swimming pool: It was a little bit cold on the days the sun wasn't blaring, since it's an unheated pool. And it's a little bit small, but we still had a great time. Maybe it was the week that we went wasn't too crowded, but we never had a problem securing a few deck chairs by the pool, no matter what time of day we went. The resort is great about organizing fun and silly activities for the guests to participate in. It enhanced a feeling of camaraderie and community morale of the resort and we felt more like comrades as we congratulated Guest A on his bellyflop contest, or Guest B for winning the pool relay race.

Entertainment: Most nights of the week they put on a show at 8pm. I didn't watch any of them so can't really say, but my husband ran in during their Lion King show and joked that it's like watching a B movie. But for a young family, it's probably fun! Our son goes to sleep at 8pm so we missed it because of his schedule, otherwise we would have given it a look.

We took advantage of their In-Room Babysitting one night to explore the Hotel Zone, and our son never knew he was babysat. The rate was excellent at $10/hour and the babysitters are also the ladies who work in the Kids Club and who perform in the show, so we felt better knowing they were regular staff there.

Mayan Ruin! There is a Mayan ruin called El Meco located on the same street as the hotel. It's about a 15 or 20 minute walk from the resort, and we highly recommend going there! The hours are 8am to 4:30/5pm and when we went we were the only 3 inside, making it a very spiritual experience. It was gorgeous.

If anybody else is considering going and you have a young one, they do not have life jackets for the under 5 set, so if you will do water sports it's a good idea to bring your own. They do have whole milk. We recommend getting the Junior Suite because there's a partition in the middle of the room, separating the bed from the lower area which has the table, refrigerator and sofa. We put our son's crib on that lower level and so it felt a little bit more like he was in his own room and we had ours.

We spent one week at the Sea Adventure Resort with our daughter and grandaughter Feb 28th to March 7, 2013. This is a great little resort, we travel quite a bit and normally stay at 4 star or better, this time we choose this 3.5 star and it far exceeded our expectation, good food, excellennt al la carte restruants, friendly staff. The resort is away from the hotel zone so a quite area, no pedlers, nice beach, some sea weed but the staff work tirelessly to keep it cleared away. I believe that you get what you pay for but this resort provided much more. Good shows, pool and beach activities a great family resort. Thank you Sea Adventure
Audrey from Saskatchewan

Room Tip: We had a ocean view suite it was perfect.

I was on a 10 day holiday in February with my 2 children age 16 and 12. We had an amazing time and could not find fault.

The entertainment team where brillant. 4 shows and discosin the evening. Entertainment for all ages during the day. I dont know where they get the energy from.

The food was buffet style and always had a great selection. My daughter is vegatarina and this was never a problem. Breakfast they will cook omeletes and eggs. The snack bar is open 10-1800 and they do salads, burgars, chips and fruit. The ice cream is to die for. The waiters are very helpful espeacilly Mario and Carlos. The bar staff are very helpful too.

Our room was clean and bedding cghanged daily. We where upgraded to a king size with a sea view. We had a whirl pool in the balcony. The view was amazing.

We used both the pools. The water park entertains the children all day. There is a tunnel under a quiet road to get there. The hotel pool varies in depths so again suited all ages.

I would recommend this for families of couples. You will have a great time. It is about 10 miles away from the hotel zone but it is very easy to get there.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are amazing and do the captain hook trip

Just returned after two weeks at the resort. After our teething troubles were sorted what a fortnight. The Staff( from reception to entertainment to bar to cleaning to waiters to ground ) all worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable, so polite and helpful. The only drawback( and it is a family resort) was the lack of parental control!!. We would reccomend it and return. Well done

We arrived late in the day, and first impressions of the resort wasn't great because of our rooms, which were the standard ones. Very dark, small and a lot like a cheap road side motel. The next day, we paid for the upgrade and the new rooms had a ocean view and were quite a bit better. Once we settled into the resort, we got used to the dated and older decor and found the resort to be quite nice. The food was good and the staff were excellent, in particular Alliandra (sic) on the animation team. She was absolutely fabulous and took great care of our kids during all the activities throughout the week. The water park was great, four different water slides with a tennis court and basketball court. Despite being open to the public, it was never busy, which went for the entire resort as well. Unlike other bigger all inclusive resorts we have stayed at, we never had to put towels on loungers to save spots in the morning, there were always plenty of chairs and spots to hang out. The dinner shows were great for the kids, the Michael Jackson show was awesome! This resort would be great if the management put some money into upgrading the place, especially the standard rooms. Yes there's sea weed on the beach, yes the beach isn't great, but the staff and the water park and laid back atmosphere of the place makes up for that. We spent a week at the Sea Adventure and then we spent a week at the 5 star Marina EL CID in Puerto Morelos and we actually enjoyed the Sea Adventure more because the ignorant and rude attitude of the security staff at the EL CID ( see my review of that resort )
