We arrived late in the day, and first impressions of the resort wasn't great because of our rooms, which were the standard ones. Very dark, small and a lot like a cheap road side motel. The next day, we paid for the upgrade and the new rooms had a ocean view and were quite a bit better. Once we settled into the resort, we got used to the dated and older decor and found the resort to be quite nice. The food was good and the staff were excellent, in particular Alliandra (sic) on the animation team. She was absolutely fabulous and took great care of our kids during all the activities throughout the week. The water park was great, four different water slides with a tennis court and basketball court. Despite being open to the public, it was never busy, which went for the entire resort as well. Unlike other bigger all inclusive resorts we have stayed at, we never had to put towels on loungers to save spots in the morning, there were always plenty of chairs and spots to hang out. The dinner shows were great for the kids, the Michael Jackson show was awesome! This resort would be great if the management put some money into upgrading the place, especially the standard rooms. Yes there's sea weed on the beach, yes the beach isn't great, but the staff and the water park and laid back atmosphere of the place makes up for that. We spent a week at the Sea Adventure and then we spent a week at the 5 star Marina EL CID in Puerto Morelos and we actually enjoyed the Sea Adventure more because the ignorant and rude attitude of the security staff at the EL CID ( see my review of that resort )

People!!

My family and I just stayed at this resort last week. The only thing that this resort has going for itself is the water park that is also open to the public, my son loved this. The resort has one pool and if you want to get a place to lay out in the sun next to the pool you better show up early or you will be laying on the chairs at your room. For a pretty good size resort there is one pool with not enough lounge chairs. The front desk is rude and management does not care if you have an issue. Gift shop was closed for a whole day so if you want a bottle of water nope good luck even when they are open you can’t even buy bottled water to keep in your room. The food here is the same thing day in day out, it is like they keep reusing the food they put out and with no creativity or flavor. No vegetarian options! No one at the resort knows what time things start or open, there is no communication on what is going on the resort and if there is it is correct. The bar by the pool is the only one open during the day so if you want a drink you will be waiting a bit for one. The bartenders are nice and helpful. The beach sucks they have sand bags all along the beach with sea weed. They were doing construction while we were there if you want to take a nap during the day or relaxe in your room good luck all you here is banging and sawing. Our room was not cleaned for two days! We had to ask for them to come clean it and when they did it was done well at all. The floor in our room was super slick my son kept on slipping and hitting his head. I do not recommend this resort at all. I would of rather spent more money on a place that was relaxing and enjoyable. I could keep on going on how bad it was and why not too good.

One more thing they also mention room service. Nope there is not one.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thank you very much for your feedback

We are sorry that your experience has been below expectations
We are a new administration taking control of the hotel from the first of March and we are committed to make the necessary changes to improve our customer experience, much appreciate your comments and here are some immediate changes that are related to your concern
-We understand that the pool in the beach area is limited in space, we also have another medium size pool in the Aldeas area of our property open to our guest and it has sufficient lounge chairs
We ready make some important changes in our front desk personnel to achieve optimums results in this important area
-We are reviewing our menu options in the main restaurant and creating new restaurant concepts and many other issues related to property improvements in search of the best experience for our customers
-We are taking back the issue of improving the beach according to state permits granted
I want to let you know that unfortunately these issues are issues of nature and they area invariant and we are always looking for the best ways to clean as soon as possible
-We are working on these and many other issues related to property improvements in search of the best experience for our customers we look forward to have you back with us and to personally discuss our progress

Sincerely,

Carlos Luengas

Just got back from a week here, we were very impressed with the hotel, room was massive, had two balconys. People moaned of the sea weed but it was being cleaned everyday so you cannot fault them. Majority of staff are very friendly and helpful especially the security guards and daniel at the hospitality desk. Evening shows were a laugh. Is a little way from what I would call downtown but is on a bus route or taxi rank right outside. Unfortunatly for me I did not rate any of the food, apart from the a la carte which was lovely. Drinks were great, not watered down. I have never seen a cleaner hotel with people constantly cleaning! Wifi is expensive but they have their own computers I found cheaper to use. Staff rely on tips, we were not aware of this and one was a little rude at the amount we gave! All in all the hotel itself was fantastic, if your not fussy with food you will probably be ok!

Room Tip: Ask for sea view on the new side!

I've just returned from a week in this hotel with my Dad and Husband and what a fantastic week we had, did not want to leave.

I read the reviews before going and was a little concerned as to what we would find but were blown away.

The hotel is purely great. Yes its away from the main hotel zone but i think this adds to the character of the hotel. It has that lovely Mexican feel to it not commercialized like all the hotels in the main zone.

All the hotel was spotless, the staff never stop and work so hard nothing is too much trouble. Its the only hotel i've evered stayed in where the main reception will call you if you put your do not distrurb sign up on your door just to make sure you don't want your room cleaning.

The facilties here are great. You have the choice of beach, waterpark and pool area to bath at, all are good. Both me and my husband enjoyed the waterpark, on the slides like kids really good fun.

The entertainment was some of the best i've seen. You can tell a lot of thought and planning goes into the shows and the staff who put them on are great entertainers.

Food was also fine lots of choice and available throughout the day. Breakfast was the best meal of the day.

Its one holiday i can't wait to return to and already saving for. Would like to give a special thanks to Armando the Bell boy he is so dedicated to his job and goes out of his way to look after guests at the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view.

My wife and I stayed from jan 26 to feb 10 this was our 4th time at this resort. We like the location because it is fairly quite away from all the craziness in cancun but close to the ferry to isla mujeres we like to spend time on the island also. As far as the hotel goes its an older resort but many of the rooms have been updated and are very nice and the maids keep them nice and cleen all of the staff are great they make you feel like family. The food is good in the buffet in the hotel on the water side not quite as good at the theater for the entertainment but you won't starve.Oysters resaurant is very good and great service. This hotel is not for everyone but if you want a quite vacation its a good place the staff will treat you great so go there relax have fun and be good to our amigos and they will be good to you. Can't wait to go back in april.
