This is a great choice for those visiting Cancun for pleasure or work and are not real beach people. The Ramada is three blocks from the ADO bus station (luxury airport buses every 30 minutes for $5) and in the heart of the downtown restaurant district. Walk to Walmart and Mercado 28. A straightforward ride on the frequent R1 or R2 bus lines to the hotel zone as well as to the Isla Mujeres ferry.
The hotel itself way exceeded my expectations, given the modest pricing. My standard room was modern, large, and very clean. The shower was larger than most, with plenty of hot water day and night. The room-specific airconditioner/heater was easy to use and quick to adjust. It also provided white noise coverage of sounds from the uncarpeted hallway. I was on the top (4th) floor facing the street, but I could hear no street noise. The room television offered about 20 channels, almost all Spanish language, with no English or Spanish subtitles.
The breakfast buffet was excellent. Its $10 cost is not included in the room rate, but it was about the best breakfast buffet I have enjoyed, anywhere. And it is avaiable until 11AM. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with my inquiries during my two night stay. The 1pm checkout time is more generous than most.More
