Centrally located in Cancun downtown, nice place if you want to feel how the local people live.Excellent place if you are staying for a short time and if you need bus transport to other cities,10 m walk from the central bus station but quite far from the harbours and the beach.
Simple and clean rooms.Great value for money.

I was in town for only 2 nights and I needed 2 things: proximity to the bus station (short walk) and the ability to find a reliable taxi to the airport at 4 am. This location in the middle of Downtown restaurants and bars was clean and, like I said, dependable.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be away from traffic noises.

Just two situations that make this hotel perfect:

a) You just arrived in Cancún and need a clean hotel close to bars, good breakfast and some restaurants. So you can refuel for a tour through Yucatan.

b) You're more unfortunate as you have to leave the wonderful peninsula Yucatan and need a spotless place to crash.

Beware that this is more like a business hotel and it's in 'downtown' Cancún. Which makes it somewhat boring.

Room Tip: Get your breakfast at their neighbours (opposite: 100% natural).

My friend and I stayed here only for one night after we flew into Canun before we started off to Tulum. It was an easy walk to the bus station. Even at night! There was plenty of night life within an easy walk. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet. That's all I really need. The wifi was good too. Though I probably wouldn't make this a final destination, I would stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel after having spent a lot more for a few nights at a beachside hotel.

Ramada is a clean, modern & fresh hotel in the middle of Cancun city, only a 4 minute walk from the ADO bus station, local's and tourist restaurants within 3 minutes walk. It is a fair distance from the beach, but the R1 bus goes by every few minutes and only costs 10 pesos each way.

The a/c didn't work when we first got into the room, but they sent someone up immediately and it was fixed within 1 minute, then worked a little too well :)
Reception staff weren't super friendly, but they got the job done.

The only bad thing was that the hot water in the shower took about a minute to come on each time, but it eventually got there!

Very happy with this place for the price.

Hotel itself is a basic downtown property with a friendly bilingual staff. Breakfast buffet is awesome, and great restaurants like Labna and Habchuela are only a block away. (As is 100% Natural.) Unlike some downtown dives, this one has parking, good lighting, a pool and bar, security, and secure parking.

Also is couple of blocks from several parks. On Sunday the park right behind the hotel had Salsa dancing lessons, and at Parque de Palapas, there was a family-friendly street party with performers, street food, and hundreds of Cancunistas (?) having fun. If you want a chance to see how Cancun residents live, this is a good place to do it, but with the safety net of air conditioning and wifi!

Note (1), our AC worked, but actually so well that it condensed water and dripped. We just put a towel down.

(2) Pool is quite nice, with its own bathroom, but no swim up bar.

(3) The rooms overlooking the pool were perfectly quiet; I suspect the ones on the street would be noisy.

(4) We were out at all hours, walking in the dark, and never felt the least problems, but we were both 6' tall men, and I speak adequate Spanish. Others might feel better sticking to the main street.

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor (or higher) overlooking the pool.

I took a brief hiatus in 2011 for 4 days and got a bargain here. I bought it on orbitz for ~$55 per night. The room was clean & the staff was friendly. The concierge was very helpful & friendly (and she spoke English!). The wi-fi on the 2nd floor was fair & my mentioning it didn't change anything. My real issue was it was downtown, towards the center of town, which is a nice safe area, but it was removed from the beach. I came for a vacation and it wasn't a great plan to have to take a taxi to the beach.
Its a fine place so I hope the 3 stars isn't to harsh.
