“2nd time around, did not disappoint”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Despite its remote location and the fact that there is literally nothing to do within walking distance, I find the Radisson Hotel Hacienda a solid choice based on spacious / clean rooms, nice spanish ambiance, free internet use at business center, complimentary bottled water and proximity to one of my favorite Mexican chain restaurants for breakfast - Los Bisquits Bisquits Obregon. The check in / check out process was expeditious, and the staff was quite friendly - I was particularly impressed with their level of care and patience with guests who spoke no Spanish and very, very little English (there seemed to be a good number of organized tour groups staying at the hotel).

We stayed here whilst visiting our daughter who lived close by. Check in was as efficient as you would expect in Mexico - no disrespect but they approach things from a different angle to in the UK. The room was OK - nothing special but fine. There was a spacious balcony which faced the road which at first was disappointing but did actually prove quite entertaining! . Breakfast was all you could eat for a reasonable price, so great if you're big eaters which we're not. No problem, you could have a simple continental or an omelette etc if you wanted. For something a bit more authentic go to Market 23 (round the back of the hotel and ask for directions) where there are various food stalls/eateries serving all manner of Mexican fayre. Swam in the hotel pool a couple of times which was a bit chilly but bearable. Sadly the pool bar wasn't open for the 9 days that we stayed which was a shame. About 10 minutes walk into town but would recommend taking a taxi back if it's late. They have a flat rate fair around town which is very reasonable - just don't expect seatbelts!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool facing room if possible.Otherwise you will probably be facing the road.

Currently still here until tomorrow. Very Mexican feeling hotel. We got upgraded to a larger room which is great as we needed a crib. I brought my own Lysol wipes as i would any hotel anywhere with a baby. Pool is good a little chilly but feels good when its hot outside. Food is okay mostly mexican choice which is expected. Hotel staff is always cleaning. Nice hotel and location if you want to be away from the beach. McDonalds just around the corner. Took a taxi to walmart 40 pesos. Walked around lots. Bring pesos for downtown.

My partner and I stayed at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Cancun. We were pleasantly surprised on how nice the hotel was. Check in was nice and easy and we were in our room within minutes of our arrival. We enjoyed the location of the hotel because we were within easy walking distance of the real Mexico. It was fun to visit with vendors on the street and in the little hole in the wall stores. We dined at a local restaurant the the server told us that the street does not shut down until 5:00 am - amazing. However I did not venture out at night to check it out. The hotel was nice and clean, the room very nice and of course the service was excellent. Free internet computers were available. I would stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Take a couple block walk to visit the local vendors

Unbelievable !!! Just so surprised that this place is surviving whilst you are spoiled for choices in Cancun. Due to a big mistake by our travel agent we landed here and we will certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone. First of all the hotel didn't respect our booking and we had to argue before being 'satisfied'. Secondly the place has no charm whatsoever / Rooms and bathrooms are out of date / housekeeping upset when you make them realise that our rooms were not clean and bedsheets were dirty. To avoid at all cost.

We apologize for the problems you encountered during your stay. We are currently in talks with corporate about renovations to take place before the end of 2013. Further, we are taking the steps necessary at this time to ensure our staff members are properly trained and are adhering to the Radisson standards.

Stayed for one night, starting a G Adventures tour. Room comfortable and clean on 3rd floor, just on central coutyard. This proved to be noisy (with guests returning to rooms on all floors) throughout night. Everytime the lift was called the 'beep beep' woke me. Breakfast the next morning (not included in room price) was OK, but 330 peso's (buffet style) which I thought was expensive. Tried prickly pears for the first time though.

Room Tip: Off the central coutyard

We stayed in this hotel because we wanted to get a feel of Mexican life and be close to local restaurants/cafes/food vendors. The hotel is great, very clean; the staff is wonderful, super friendly. There is a big pool, although we didn’t have time to use it. You will have coffee and decaf in your room, as well as different kinds of tea, plus bottled water. We just had our coffees in the morning and fruits that we’d bought in the evening at a local supermarket (10 min walk). The hotel’s shuttle can drop you off at 10am or at noon at a Beach Club in the Hotel Zone and then pick you up at 4pm; or you can simply take a local bus (they are great, cost 20 pesos/less than $2, run every 1-2 min, and stop just less than 5 min walk from the hotel.) to any beach you want. It’s also a 10 min relaxed walk from the bus station where you arrive if you take a bus from the airport. I think we saved a lot by not buying an all inclusive hotel, because if you like doing different sorts of activities and want to explore, you’d be away from the hotel all day. However, it’s sweet to come back and relax at a 5 start hotel.
