paid $4 usd to visit this place and got hassled for a walking tour for $20. Opted out of the walking tour. keep in mind they ONLY accept pesos so make sure you come w/ the correct amount.
This place is great for taking pictures however that is probably about it.

Nice place to wander--I was one of only three people there--but it would be nice if there were more information available about what I was looking at.

Just a short bus ride early in the morning, and catch the sunrise over the El Rey Ruins in the center of the city. It was an amazing experience, having the place all to ourselves, and watching the iguanas and crows worship the sun. This place is a must-visit as a prelude to Chichen Itza.

Do not miss the El Rey ruins near the Crown Paradise on the hotel zone strip. A very fun trip for families to view a Mayan city without hours on a bus. Easy to walk around and lots of friendly iguanas to amuse the kids. Well worth the few $$ to visit... If it is hot be sure to take water along and bread or bananas to feed the iguanas. Great history lesson.
