My mother and I stayed here for 4 nights before heading to Holbox Island. As a Mexico resident I've stayed in Cancun before but didn't like the big American chain hotels which are over priced, brash and can be noisy. Casa Turquesa is smaller and quieter with just 29 rooms, all with full or partial sea view and private balconies.
We were met with a warm welcome, and Missey on the reception desk was absolute delight. The rooms are spacious (the biggest I've ever seen without paying for a suite). Our bathroom had a separate shower and bath which seems to be unusual to have both in Mexico. We had a ground floor room from which you could step directly out to the pool and breakfast area. The pool terrace restaurant serves breakfast and lunch - both of which are delicious and the pool bar serves until 5pm. The staff were all incredibly friendly too.
The hotel beach area has plenty of beds, although you do need to pop up to the pool bar to order drinks and snacks. The sand is white and clean. There is also free parking should you need it. The hotel is 2 minutes from a shopping mall should you need anything, and for those wanting a lively night, Hard Rock and other bigger hotels are walking distance.More
