My wife and I returned to the Royal Sands for about our 18th time and once again were impressed. We are member so opted out of the all inclusive option. We thought the food was better than before but thought the service by the pool might be a bit slower because of the increase in all inclusive folks at the resort. We think the all inclusive may even be responsible for the revitalization of the principal restaraunt there. Never the less the place is spectacularly clean and beautiful and the Spa is first rate with special package rates. The weather in February was a little cooler but it warmed up as the week went along and therefore I can still say we have never had a bad time at the Royal Resorts!! See you in July!!

Room Tip: Rooms during this time of year are best on the North Side.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at this beautiful resort. We stayed at a two bedroom suite which consist of two rooms. The rooms are spacious and each has a balcony. The room with the kitchen has the large balcony with comfortable sitting area and is accessible either from the living room or the master bedroom. The living room has two well hidden Murphy beds (I did not open them to check them out). The kitchen is fully functional, stove, fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher. The smaller room has a microwave and a small fridge. The smaller balcony is standing room only you can put a chair there if you have to. We traveled with another couple and we never got in each other's way. Both rooms have beautiful ocean views and pool views.

We got our food provisions for the five days in downtown Cancun but there is a very convienent grocery store in the lobby of the hotel it is well stock and is really reasonably priced. The hotel has everything you need. We were traveling on a shoestring so we did not eat in the Resort.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice and have ocean and pool views no bad rooms.

After staying at a sister Royal property - we decided to purchase week 7 at the Royal Sands. We LOVE IT! The villa has plenty of room for our family and friends. The food and service is impeccable. I purchased here because its a place I call home.

We have been to Cancun many times over several years. This place practically charged you for the air you breathe!!! No entertainment for kids unless you put them in their expensive daycare program. We hoped for some entertainment by the pool side or even activities on the grounds for us to do (i.e. mini golf, darts, bingo, pool games, scuba trial lessons, etc.). I even tried to use their gym which was only allowed to those owners or guests, who purchased a package, which was like giving your left arm away!!! My husband got sick from their "fabulous" food and couldn't eat for three days!!! Keep in mind that this was the first time he ever experienced getting sick while visiting Cancun. After requesting for some medical assistance, there was no support and we went out to get our own medicine, which only helped after the third day. Our concierge, Naomi, was very, very slow to respond to any of our requests. Naomi tried to even give us "the Sales" pitch, but after staying at many different resorts we kindly refused. Well, the only thing she did was push us on to her boss, Daniel. When we made an attempt to visit, Daniel was unavailable and didn't want to meet us at our convenience. We were told that he was NOT allowed to go to the pool side and speak to guests!!! I thought we were on vacation, so the RESORT will bend over backwards to please their GUESTS, CORRECT!!!! It shouldn't matter what position any Royal Sands Resort employee holds; it is their responsibility to make sure the GUESTS are PLEASED, since we are PAYING for everything, even their SALARY!!!! Go someplace else NO MATTER what kind of DEAL you are promised!!!! It certainly is NOT WORTH it at ALL!!!!

This resort is first class! As far as time shares go, this one is the best! The staff cannot do enough for you. The entire resort is kept extremely clean. The beach is beautiful and the resort is very family friendly. We will definitely be returning!

Over the years changes have acured none which have benefited the owners . The latest which is the all inclusive option has thus far been the worst , the prices throughout the resort have gone through the roof , in general it has brought a younger,wilder group of people that have little respect for anything or any one around them.
There are rules posted all around about the pool and beach area , very few people pay any attention to them and although security is all around I have yet to see them say anything to anyone. I watch to young men mixing drinks on the pool deck from glass bottles(half gallon rum bottle) three security guards walked buy and countless pool waiters and no one said a word.
The service is slow in the restruant ,with a buffet it took 10 minutes to get a refill on diet coke when that's all the waiters had to do .
The ear shattering noise around the pool ( they call it music) is still a problem Even after numerous complaints. Why they need this for bingo or anything else I'll never know.
The shuttle bus continues to be an issue , all the people I talked to that had used the service were not happy and talking to the mangers is a waste of time they know you are leaving on Saturday and there problem is going to be gone.
The up side is the house keeping staff is super the maintenance people do a terrific job and in general the people are very friendly and eager to please.
One last thing the taxi rates are ridiculous .

Room Tip: The bang for the buck is no longer here. Look around I think you can do better

When was the last time you visited a resort's pool bathfroom and found soft, high-quality paper towels for drying your hands? Did the darkened lights come on automatically? Were your numerous resort restaurants's service top-notch? Was all of their food delicious and reasonably priced? Were all of the resort bars well-staffed and did they provide excellent drinks? Were there close-up vanity mirrors in each bathroom? Did the daily towel service provide large, soft towels and washcloths? Was there a well-stocked, on-site convenience store with groceries open both day and night? Did the beach have white powder sand and plenty of palapas and chairs?
These are just a few of the things that make a 5-Star Resort and the Royal Sands and all of the Royal Resorts have them all.
It's a true 5-Star experience and I highly recommend it. I have visited many All-Inclusive resorts, including Iberostar and Riu Palaces all over the Carribbean, with friends and family. I am also a member of the Royal Resorts in Cancun. The Royal Resorts beat them all in any measurement you can choose.
