Amazing experience! The most beautiful beach and pool ever. All you can eat and drink with lots of entertainment. This is a place to relax and lounge, but if you are looking for slow and boring stay at the Marriott next door. You'll have to wear the wristband the whole trip which at first seems a bit annoying and then you quickly forget you are wearing it and take advantage of not having to carry money anytime you are on the premises. You will be treated like a rockstar with any drink or food you want anytime. Plan ahead for adventures outside the hotel (Mayan pyramids, dolphin swimming, atv's, ziplines, cave swimming) and get advice at the hotel because that is where you will be spending your money and getting upsold. The Hard Rock is a great place for young and old, but not for the uptight!

Room Tip: All sides have water views in Cancun, but try to face the Ocean. If you want things quieter than don't face the pool. All rooms have a jacuzzi!

The Hotel was beautiful, had a great time. The room service was quick, a couple of times I just didn't want to make the trip down to breakfast, so we stayed in. The 2 person, in-room jacuzzi made the room first-class, though we only got to use it twice in the week that we were there because we were doing everything we could that they had to offer.
The ONLY thing negative about the hotel, and it was terrible, was the service at the restaurants. We spent almost 3 hours at all the restaurants to complete our meals. The only quick meal service was at the Buffet, or outside around the pool area. Because of this we could not go out a couple of nights because it became too late. I am only telling this so the "Management" will hopefully see this and work on this. EVERYTHING ELSE about the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun, I enjoyed exstatically.
Oh, and kudos to WILBERTH, the bartender at the main bar inside. He is quick, good, personable, and always with a smile. He knows how to work and take care of the bar.
And I loved the classic rock always being played. It was very hard to get the clubs inside to play some good latin music to dance to, we finally persuaded them to mix it up a little and more dancers got on the floor.
I would love to go back for more, HECK YEAH!!!

Surprisingly, I had a great time. I thought it would be geared more toward the younger crowd, but really, as long as you like classic rock music, it's geared for all ages. Don't expect a Mariachi Band or Mexican culture music..the rock music is on in the lobby and bars 24/7 and more modern music at the pool all day. You gotta love that or it will annoy you! :) It's running all day and night.

Restaurants - Ate at all 5 at least twice and can't say enough how surprised we were at the quality of the food and service! Mexican, Italian, Brazilian Steak House, Japanese, and the International buffet were all good. Not over-the-top, drop-you-to-your knees, top-chef… but very good. And we are very PICKY eaters who went into tour first "all inclusive" suspiciously. Crowds were handled well too. Only had one night (Friday) when our wait at the Italian was over an hour, but usually we got right in, even at a 6:30-7 dinner time. Service was prompt without rushing us. Food at the pool was nonstop. Lunch grill & pizza brick oven and hot foods laid out at night in chafing dishes. Even had hand-carved turkey by the pool on USA's Thanksgiving night.

Drinks - were easy to get anywhere in the hotel or surrounding grounds, always mixed tasty at a healthy alcohol strength and top shelf brands always available. Of course there is a normal wait if you approach a bar at its peak hour (lobby bar during karaoke or pool bar at mid-day) but servers were always accessible and got them to us fast if the bar was busy.

Activities- Always something fun going on at the pool or on the beach such as pool and beach volleyball, beach soccer, cooking lessons, rifle lessons, basketball, spanish lessons, trivia, dance contests, poker, etc, etc. Ping Pong table at the pool, basketball and tennis by the gym. Pool tables at the lobby bar (only 2 so best time is to grab mid day or before evening crowd sets in)

Beach- Great, clean beautiful beach with lots of lounge chairs ..you just gotta put your towel on one before 11am to secure a seat for the day, or take advantage of the reserved options. At 11:15-11:30 everyone comes out of nowhere and they are all gone instantly. Infinity pool was fabulous.

Service -Ours was highly impressive. Not one employee was stone-faced. Every single employee from the wait staff, bartenders, cleaning service, and entertainment staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate you with a smile and a solution or to involve you in the fun if you wanted to be. Andy, Monster (Kevin), Tony and Fernanda were all there to make the fun more fun. Kids had an entirely different program menu and even a separate activity hut, but our boy is 14 and didn't participate in that. We had no trouble getting food service or drink service quickly from one of the 2 pool bars.

Rooms- We thought we would have a beach view room but we didn't. We found out later they never can guarantee that ahead. We had requested a king (with rollaway) and apparently most of those are on the Lagoon view side. Didn't really like the Lagoon View since it looks across the entrance and road to the lagoon and downtown view. So it took us a day to move and only options were 2 doubles. So we took it. Some ocean view rooms have better views than others. Rooms were clean, well stocked and everything worked. Our first room (lagoon view, king) had a light bulb out in the bathroom but they sent someone within minutes to fix it when we called. Lower water pressure too. We liked our beach front doubles better. Beds were a little firm, but still comfortable. Walls & ceilings are not real soundproof so I would think spring break could be a bit of a restless night, but for our week, it wasn't bad. Only thing we didn't like about the rooms was that they have all the overhead balcony lights ON until they decide to turn them all out together around midnight. This really made for no intimacy or privacy when you wanted to have a glass of wine on your balcony at night, you were in the spotlight and your view was compromised from the overhead lighting They need to improve that lacking feature.

Room Tip: Rooms in the center have the best WIFI reception but even that is sketchy depending on time of day. South end is quieter since the loud music over the pool is on the north end. south or north end corners are great views. Higher= better view on ocean side. Some upper pool structures impair the view on lower floors (below 7) north of the center. We stayed slightly south of the center and could see the pool and the ocean even on the 4th floor. Lagoon view is dull. You are looking down at the entrance to the hotel, across the road, then across the Lagoon and downtown beyond that. If you plan to be in your room at sunset every night then maybe...since the sun sets on that side...but frankly, we thought that side did not feel like a vacation room. Those working or gone all day will never notice it, until evening when you have no ocean sounds and an annoying overhead light on your balcony that you can't turn off. (that's on both sides of the hotel til midnight)

Stayed at the Hard Rock Cancun in November with my sisters, daughter & niece, it was an ALL girls trip and could not have been better. The hotel is beautiful, the décor is modern accentuated with music memorabilia. The rooms were lovely, we had a double Jacuzzi with double sinks in the rooms with a very spacious closet which came in handy. The location of the hotel is great, situated in the hotel zone with an amazing beach!---Clear blue water and white sand! The service is amazing, a special thanks to Charly at the market and to all of the staff you guys rock! See you soon!!!
