We just returned from a super special two weeks at Club Med Cancun. Cancun is our favorite club out of the three we have visited. This trip we were quite impressed with Zani chief of village. She was very approachable and seemed well liked by the GOs. Sometimes, like our trip in December last year to Punta Cana, the chief of village can be a prima donna. Not Zani. She was right there doing skits, crazy signs, greeting people on the beach etc. She said she is leaving Cancun in a few months, it would have been nice to see her again when we return to Cancun in the spring.
The village is amazing and totally fun. You name it, they have it. We especially enjoyed snorkeling. Francisco was a great at helping with equipment, suggesting places to dive and dancing in the back row during shows.
The land sports were a blast. Every morning we power walked with Marc or Jona and each had a different route and style. The same can be said for the way they both conducted aqua fitness. You have so much fun you don’t even realize you are getting in a serious workout. They also both did volleyball and made everyone feel welcome, as well as giving pointers on serves and returns.
The circus team of Betinha, MadMax, Alexander and Oliver were probably the best team Club Med has ever assembled. I don’t know how they find the energy, but they fly all day and dance (and perform) all night. They are patient and caring and take the time to coach everyone young and old. I know for a fact they stayed 45 minutes longer than they had to, to accommodate people who were leaving the next day and wanted to accomplish one last trick. Needless to say MadMax is a legend at Club Med and is one of the nicest, most humble people I have ever met.
Zoro, Monsey and Annie in water-ski were amazing and were able to get me up on skis after 20 years of not skiing. Other GOs we encountered who were awesome were Gerry, JC, Massimo and so many others who’s names escape me. I have nothing but positive things to say about this club and it’s entire staff including the chefs, the waiters and waitresses and the “beach boys” Eddie and Georgie.
I would highly recommend this club for truly memorable vacation.
