What a fantastic 4th of July weekend we spent at the Ritz in Cancun. We stayed on the Club Level which is not to be missed. Several presentation of appetizers, snacks and drinks throughout the day - and the service is impeccable!!
Melina at the concierge desk was so pleasant and professional - what an asset to the hotel. Ruben the bellman was very helpful and friendly, always offering a restaurant suggestion.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and the sushi in the lobby bar was excellent.
We also enjoyed the Culinary center and Dining with The Chef. We thoroughly enjoyed Chef Carlos and his team - the food was delicious and the atmosphere fantastic.
On a side note - during their national elections (which were when we were there) there is no alcohol service or sale outside the hotel

Room Tip: Choose ocean-view over ocean-front - you'll still see the ocean but also overlook the pool area

Everything is at the Ritz standard. Rooms were great, staff, as always in any Ritz property, were gracious and accommodating. The property is beautiful and so were the people.

The only reason I did not give it a 5 is that during our stay early July 2013, there were ample construction on the main building and it seems next door to our room as well. Decided not to request a move after the construction noises stopped after the first day.

Will definitely return, next time with our three young children since the activities we saw for kids looked great.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor since the balconies offered a bit more privacy with portico's rathe...

We went for our 20th anniversary and weren't disappointed in any way. Taking a tip from TripAdvisor, we stayed on Club Level. DEFINITELY worth it - ample buffet meals & drinks available in the common area limited how much & how often we had to spend money at restaurants. Food everywhere is really good. Also a terrific concierge service on the Club floor with exclusive check in/check out.

Because we aren't parents, we cherish finding locations where adults with children are at a separate, larger pool. (#1 on this list: Ritz-Carlton in Naples FL). Although an adults-only pool policy isn't advertised nor enforced at the Cancun Ritz, most parents were kind of enough to quickly assess the peace at our pool and move on.

We would definitely return here.

My family stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun the last week of June (occupying two rooms) on the Concierge/Club level. We had a fantastic experience at the Ritz. The level of service was phenomenal everywhere throughout the hotel, but most particularly so on the Club Level where the staff was professional, attentive and personable. The food presentations on the Club level were absolutely l delicious, the rooms were spotless and luxurious, and I just cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. The beach is stunning, the pools were immaculate and relaxing and the outdoor staff was great as well (they also made great drink recommendations). I think reviews comparing this hotel to brand new all-inclusive properties are misguided--apples to oranges. This hotel (and all hotels within the brand) are the gold standard for customer service and this property is a grand dame of luxury rather than the newest, hottest property. That being said, it was still equipped with all of the modern conveniences I have come to expect (flat screens, extremely reliable and fairly quick WiFI, etc) and I loved the classic, traditional style of the decor. During my stay, I continually marveled at the attention to detail throughout this hotel such as the beautiful floral arrangements throughout the property. It was a relaxing, lovely experience from the moment we received a glass of sparkling wine when we checked in. The Club level is absolutely worth every penny--I would highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Club level (8th or 9th floor) and oceanfront are the way to go!

Great service, very nice people. They try to make every thing be so personal. The view, the rooms and the food was good. Concierge was very helpful but perhaps needed to have more knowledge of the tours offered: everybody thinks you have tons of $ because you are at the Ritz. For the hotel: take the tours yourself and see what they offer.

My family just returned from a six day stay at the Ritz and enjoyed every minute of it. We were first met by Caesar, the bellhop, who was ever so courteous and made sure we had whatever we needed. The hotel is extremely customer-service oriented.

The Rooms:

We occupied two one-bedroom suites and one room in between. The rooms were very large and ocean front. We had seven balconies for three rooms, and they were very comfortable with top quality accents and linens.

The Restaurants:

We ate at The Club Grille most nights and had amazing dishes. I highly recommend the prosciutto as an appetizer, which is flown in weekly from Spain. Other amazing entrees: filet mignon and the seafood dishes. The breakfast buffet is also a must and one of the best values at the hotel.

The Pool and Beach:

Very nice and never an issue of not getting chairs. The staff sets you up at either the pool or beach and supplies you with ample towels.

The Gym:

I was very impressed with the size of the gym/spa for a hotel. All of the equipment was newer and working. Plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, etc. My family also had the best massages ever at the spa.

Overall, a wonderful place to be pampered while on vacation. I will certainly return to this Ritz and am glad to see that they have maintained their brand legacy of service and quality.

Room Tip: Corner suites offer two ocean-front balconies and one side balcony.

My husband and I just returned from a lovely stay at the Ritz, but our absolute favorite part of the trip were the two culinary adventures. First, we went to the market with Carlos Garcia and then we all cooked a fabulous lunch. Fun, a great learning adventure and delicious. And, then we enjoyed it so much we signed up for the Mexican Culinary Experience dinner. It was FANTASTIC. a true foodie adventure. The kitchen is magnificent and the staff is fantastic. We cannot say enough how much we enjoyed Carlos--an easygoing nature belies his ability to pull off 5 courses while engaging in conversation and teaching the entire time. A thank you to him and the wonderful staff-Evie was a delight as well.

Room Tip: If possible upgrade to the Concierge Level. Excellent service.
