“Hidden gem”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

I know that Caracol has seen better days but there are still some very worthwhile shops to visit. My favorite silver place: Sebastian on 2nd floor. Possibly looks a little sparce but take a closer look. They offer work from Mexican designers and their most popular are 3 female designers with some gorgeous and very interesting pieces available. They're not giving it away but their prices are very fair and you won't get taken for a ride. Also, I love Del Mar on the first floor. Their sister store at La Isla mall is tiny and understocked. The Caracol shop has an excellent variety with very interesting pieces of jewelry. Once again, they're not giving it away but very reasonable prices. Enjoy!

“Wow this has changed in recent years. You can skip”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

This was at one time 'the' shopping center in Cancun. The US Consular representative's office is on the third floor still.

Not too many stores left in this mall, the good restaurants seem to have gone. There is a starbucks, but I'm not lumping that in the good restaurant category.

If you're in the area stop in for a look about, but don't make a special trip.

“Nice Shops - Scary if you're allergic to perfume”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

This plaza is located directly across the street from the Riu Cancun and Riu Palace hotel resorts. It is filled with a wide variety of shops, excursion tours and a few eateries, notably a Häagen-Dazs and Starbucks. Very friendly shop personnel.

IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVITY TO PERFUME -- beware, there is a large perfumery located in the center of the plaza and it may cause you to have a bad reaction because of the amount of fragrance in the air. It is very potent.

“Nice mall but not a lot to look at.”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

It is a nice mall a couple interesting stores but not really worth the stop, if you really want to shop till you drop you need to go downtown to Plaza Las Americas. For souvenirs probably Plaza Flamingo.

“Plaza Caracol Tours”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

We stumbled upon this place by accident. The prices at some of the stores were less than on the street, with a LOT LESS hounding. A big PLUS is that it's air-conditioned.
I especially want to thank Oliver at the Caribe Caracol tour store for recommending the Albatros Catamaran tour, and for giving us a good price.... Thanks, Oliver!
