A rare nice thing local government provides to those who do not stay in hotel zone. You can still enjoy the same beautiful beach without staying in most expensive resort in town. Shower, changing rooms also provided.

Limited parking and prepare to wait in a line if you want to take a picture of the sign “Cancún”. No wait, no line in early morning . This will be equivalent to people waiting in line for similar picture in Key West, FL "Southernmost" sign.

this Public Beach area rarely has Delfines / Dolphins... since the entrance to the Beach in this hotel zone is limited to hotel Guest ONLY........ the Public must have access to the Beach.......this photo is NOT this beach area.... there is NO shade or lounge chairs

It looks like it is one of the nicest beaches in Cancun.
Many locals you can also meet here.
Waves were really high at the time we visited it.

I went to this beach because everyone said it was a must. It is a beatiful beach. It is also really large, which is not the case with many other beaches, I spent a few hours there and do recommend it.

Two downsides - 1) The beach drops off where the water comes in. Just be aware, because I saw many people fall over, not realizing there was a steep drop off. 2) the water is really rough! I am an experienced ocean swimmer and a surfer and I found the water difficult. The waves come in fast, right on top of each other, and it is difficult to get out far enough to not be knocked over. Make sure you have a swimming partner!

Sea weed - this is a problem all over Mexico. They are making a huge effort to curb it's impact. Each beach has several men raking up leaves and heavy loader trucks to cart the seaweed away, so it is manageable for tourists, but it is there and does create a foul odor.

Lovely beach with huge waves.A couple of places on the beach to eat.Just check the price of drinks as we were charged the same price for a virgin pina colada as an alcoholic one as it was expensive. The eating place allowed you to use a sunbed for free if buying drinks etc.I believe this may be the protected beach that the turtles lay their eggs.Saw a number of large iguanas here. There are public toilets and a small shower available. If you walk this beach you cannot get off until you reach another public beach as a number of hotels are on this beach and you are not allowed access. The Cancun sign is also here but you will need to queue for a photo.Worth a visit.

All the beaches in Cancun are public, but because of the huge hotels and beachfront development you can't get access to it! The government has remedy this by making 7 entrances to the beaches. Playa Delfines is one of the best ones! Great wave action, wide sandy white beach, bathroom facilities. Everyone goes here to take a picture with the Cancun colorful sign. Very popular, limited parking and congested on the weekends.
