The best public beach in Cancun. Free palapas, lots of sand, a great view of the coastline from El Mirador, lifeguards and WiFi (if subscribed to Telmex's Infinitum). There is also a playground for kids and they are improving access for the disabled. There are restricted swimming areas, so beware of the strong currents.

All of the beaches by the hotels where I've stayed in Cancun have been tiny. Enough room to have a lounge chair, but no real place to walk. Playa Delfines is a real beach. Beautiful sand and turquoise water. There are even some shade "umbrella" structures built right on the beach and a playground for kids. The beach is really clean and seems well regulated. I don't think most vendors are welcome there. It was slow when I was there- that may not be correct, but this is a public beach, so no bars and restaurants right there. Easy to get to in the hotel zone - and free!

We saw one SUV got broken in, they cracked the rear window and stole all items inside, right at the parking area, so be careful, we normally just walked there from our hotel, but it seems to be a public beach (there are not many in the area)

Not to far from our hotel has lots of nice beach and great facilities for the public. Be aware that topless sunbathing is allowed and you may get an eyefull. My kids were a bit surprised. The water is very calm and my son was a little disappointed that he was unable to rent a surf board or boogie board anywhere. Other then that this was a nice place.

This is the first view of the beach you will see when coming into the hotel zone from the airport. Most locals use this beach because of it's beauty and beautiful warm blue water. It is so pretty. Doesn't offer much else, but a nice sight. Ask your taxi driver to point it out as you pass.
