Just returned today after spending 6 nights here. Well maintained resort located on excellent stretch of beach. The rooms are well appointed and adequate. Every room has an ocean view. The staff (with the exception of reception) of this hotel are phenomenal. The service that they provide is unparalleled.

The reason I gave this resort 2 starts is my experience with them at checkout. I had a bill of 4850 pesos to settle and noticed Elisa (the front desk clerk) charged my credit card $406 USD. I was puzzled as to why they did this considering I was in Mexico and should be charged in pesos. After further clarification they informed me that they converted 4850 pesos to USD at there own conversion rate of 11.95, despite the fact that the actual rate is 13.

I was pretty pissed at them, I felt that my card should be charged 4850 pesos. I saw no reason that they would convert to USD other than skim profits upon checkout from there customers. It wasn't a small sum either it is 8% of your total bill which can add up quite quickly.

After some resistance they agreed to refund and recharge in pesos. No apology was given. I assume they run this scheme on all unsuspecting guests upon checkout. Buyer Beware, will definitely not return to this chain.

Just returned from 7 nights at this restort. This was our first time to Cancun. I read the reviews of the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral and decided to book package thru AA vactions. Wow. What a hotel. Its a resort and laid back. No drinking contests here. But this is what we wanted after a cold extended March. Pool, beach, and R & R. Floors throughout the hotel and rooms are marble. Very clean property. Staff constantly cleaning public areas. Service is top notch and staff are very friendly. Our package put us in a first floor room overlooking the pool and ocean. The second day I politely asked if I could be upgraded to a higher floor and was put in a 5th floor room. What a view. The bed was very comfortable, down pillows, and nice bath and linens. Meals not too overpriced. Excellent breakfast buffet. The package we booked included a discount book totaling $1,000. We didnt use all coupons, but most. The beach was great. Clean and you were able to swim in the ocean. The hotel is located around a point from Dreams Hotel and Cancun coast wave action is not a problem here. Also, the beach area is not accessable to non hotel guests. So no pedaling of charms or hats. Security throughout...felt very safe here. Within a 5 minute walk of Senor Frogs... etc. When back in Cancun this would be my first choice again.

Room Tip: Most all rooms are ocean view. Try to book 2nd floor or higher.

We traveled as a family of four to the FAGCB for our spring break. It was absolutely fabulous! This was our first trip to Cancun and we will return.
Everything was just perfect! Our vacation booking included the $1000 credit book for the resort. We took advantage of several coupons, including the complementary in room coffee (3 days), restaurant/drink credits, and water sports. We did not try the spa but heard wonderful reviews from other guests we met here.
Our room was located on the 5th floor in the west tower, with a gorgeous view of the Caribbean. I don't think you can go wrong with any room in the entire hotel! The location is ideal ~ right in the hotel zone but across the street from the main beach. FAGCB has basically a private little beach just for the resort. Dreams Cancun and RIU are nearby.
We swam in the ocean every day; it was very easy to swim here. We walked the main beach and noticed swimming was closed ~ red flags posted, lifeguards calling people in. The surf was much rougher there. The pools here are also quite nice. They are very clean and do not seem to be over chlorinated, much more like salt water pools.
The service here is outstanding! We especially liked our waiters Pastor and Sergio (at the pool and beach). The entire staff is so pleasant and professional. The food is excellent! We had tacos several times for lunch, as well as the shrimp and vegetable tempura. A nice perk is that kids meals are free with a paid adult meal, so our boys enjoyed free meals whenever we ate at the hotel. We ordered a la carte from the breakfast menu. The omelets were very good. I also tried the eggs guajillo which were delicious.
The resort is within a few minutes walking distance to many restaurants and clubs. We had dinner one night at Mextreme, another at Carlos and Charlie's. Both were good, especially for kids.
The OXXO convenience store is across the street. We bought bottled water and snacks here daily. We did discover another OXXO right next door to the hotel on the left, heading towards Dreams. This location seemed to be much quieter and you do not have to cross the busy street. Starbucks is conveniently located at Plaza Caracol, a large mall about a block away.
Our eight year old son came down with a cold during our stay. He was coughing terribly in the middle of the night. We thought his allergies were acting up. We called the front desk at 3 am. They sent the hotel doctor to our room. He was on another call at the time we inquired, however, he was able to get to us within a half hour. Our son needed an antibiotic which he brought to us immediately. The cost to us was about $150 USD (for house call and prescription), which may be submitted through our insurance as well.
We also had family photos done by DreamArt Photography. They are located within the hotel at the shopping arcade. Lucy was so helpful and Damian took fabulous photos! He spent about 45 minutes with us in the garden by the pool and on the beach. He really got great shots of all of us to commemorate our trip!
We can't wait to go back! Our ten year old was sentimental the last morning as he said "goodbye" to the ocean!

Just got back from 5 nights at this beautiful property. I have been on a lot of beaches but this is one of my favorites. The sand was like velvet. We had a suite facing the ocean, our room was perfect, loved the balcony. We stayed on the 11th floor and the view was spectacular. The bed is so comfortable, just like home. If I had to complain about the room there are two things that need correction. The water for the shower is not always hot, hit and miss on that. The internet is not great also hit or miss. The food around the pool is exceptional the tacos are a must. The breakfast buffet was expensive but had a lot to offer. The hotel staff was great and the service at the pool was also great. Luis took great care of us, that guy is a hard worker. Location is nice too, walking distance to several restaurants and shopping.

My wife and I spent a week last March for our anniversary. We got the $1000 USD credit for the resort, which is limited to certain activities and restaurants, but they provided great incentives to try every restaurant, and participate in other activities (i.e. water games, SPA etc..). Most activities were not free, but got fairly good discounts on each.

Service was the highlight of this place. I've been to a lot of luxurious resorts/hotels before, but service here probably exceeded what I received anywhere else. People here are so eager to serve you.

The restaurants were excellent, they are not cheap, but each was unique in taste and experience. I highly recommend each of them.

The location could hardly be better, right in the heart of the Zona Hotelera with dozens of restaurants around, a fashion mall, transportation. The beach was pristine, and relaxing.

We are already looking forward to going back.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter and have a nicer view of the ocean. Also request a room that doesn't h...
