“The course, damaged by monsoon rains, should be closed for repairs”

The staff here are great, so let me say that off the bat. However, the monsoon rains that have fallen on the Yucatan Peninsula should have closed this course until it could be repaired and become playable again. Only 9 of the 18 holes of this Jack Nicklaus designed course were open. And those 9 were in pretty bad shape. No one is responsible for the vagaries of the weather; but, we need to respond appropriately to the outcome. This course is utterly unplayable in its current condition.

We enjoyed our game and had a nice day on the course. It has a lot of water around it and jungle so if you hit off the fairway, bring extra balls. This is the fourth golf course that I have played in Cancun and the Maya Riviera (Golf Club at Playacar & 2 different course sets at Moon Palace). Each one has been different and enjoyable. Courses are in very good condition. Staff at the Riviera Cancun Golf course was our least favorite as they tried to change the deal we had and they were not pleasant to work with - In spite of them, the golf was great. Staff at the other courses were all outstanding! Golf Club at Playacar has been a favorite because it has a lot native wild birds and animals on the course to enjoy while playing golf.

We played golf here one day on our trip away from Moon Palace. Not worth it at all. Stay on property at Moon Palace, and enjoy all the ameidies of the all inclusive resort. No fun at the course. Everything ran off the fairway and into the swamp. When we got there the starter said "Welcome to the Jungle" and that is what it was. 1 positive of the place was that my son and I played the course in 3:05 because there was nobody else there!

Have played here several times over the last few years -- it is a tight course in many places -- yet a good layout. Bring extra balls if you don't hit it straight or it is a windy day. Lots of water around the course. The staff is not very friendly but the resturant staff was excellent - as was the food. Try the gespacho soup.
The 17th and18th holes are great Jack Nicklaus design

Jesus the golf pro is the BEST!!! My wife has been to two of his sessions once in Dec. 2012 and now in July 2013. He really went the extra mile and is a huge asset to the Riviera
