“Vary nice”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

After many years of refusing to even consider mexico my wife managed to convince me. So putting safety first we didn't leave the hotel. I was also surprised to see that the swimming pool was heated and that was good because of Mexico weather Dec and Jan. This hotel was the cancun Hilton prior to feb 2012. Iberostar taken it over adding in the all inclusive. Ok the rooms were clean and nice our room had a beachview. Food was good 9/10 they had 4 restaurant gourmet was very good,Mexican was also good , A stake house and a Japanese that we didn't try. Entertainment was lacking but I still give it a 6/10. But where I really got impressed was the service if I can give then higher than 10 I would.

“Enjoyable day on the course”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

Liked the very friendly staff and the all inclusive feature. Disliked the oder in some areas of the course. Liked the site of many crocadiles sunning themselves on the banks of the many water areas. The iguanas are fun also. Liked the length of the par fours. If you stay out of trouble a low score is very achievable.

“Great Resort Course.”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Golfed five rounds Jan.25th-Feb. 1st. All early morning rounds except one twilight.
Course is in great shape. If guests at the hotel, they give you a ride in a golf cart to the course. Just a quick 30 second jaunt under a tunnel.

Greens roll true and fairways are like carpet. The course was re-seeded to Seashore Paspalum in 2006. However midway through our stay the greens were verticut (sliced) and lightly topdressed with sand which made the greens slightly less player friendly than the first few rounds. I guess that's the price golfers have to pay for a very well maintained golf course.

The price was decent for Mexico as we received reduced rates for staying at the resort. Coffee, beers, sandwiches, etc. were 'all-inclusive'. Very nice. Only on early morning was coffee not available as the staff must've slept in.

The course plays short but with the trade winds constantly changing you are always faced with different club selections every hole. There are crocodiles on the course so don't go looking in any bushes for golf balls. One hole we witnessed a croc eating another croc! Crazy.

Overall this was a fun course and a perfect way to spend a quick 3-3.5 hours. Nice pace of play and great location just a 30 second cart ride from the hotel. Some scenic holes along the lagoon, and a little peek at the El Rey Ruins on hole 16. Downside is the first 3 holes play along the busy strip but it's amazing they (designers) even fit a golf course on the tiny strip of land in the heart of Cancun.
