I stayed at the Casamagna hotel and decided to try Mikado as I have eaten here on previous visits. The meal was average. My sushi was very not up to par...very mushy and not what I expect at a Marriott hotel. The hibachi style dinner took a very long time and given that it was late I could not wait to pay the bill and leave. I will say that part of my disappointment with dinner was due to 2 overly drunken women at our table who insisted on carrying on a very loud conversation for the entire meal. It was inappropriate behavior in front of my daughter and other children at the table. The wait staff was friendly and helpful but I believe that our meal was destined for failure from the start!

If you are looking for a tepaniaki restaurant where they put on a good show and make excellent japanese food, then this is the place. It is located within the hotel. Look for a discount coupon in the USA Today Cancun edition.

We went there to get some light Japanese food on our vacation. What a letdown it was! It is without doubt the worst Japanese restaurant we have ever encountered. Not an advertisement for the Marriott brand! It is more like a coffee shop, really, although the teppanyaki section has more atmosphere. The restaurant is located at the entrance of the Casa Magna Marriott between that and the JW Marriott Hotel. The miso soup was at best lukewarm when served and was not brought to the table until very last. Then came the tempura, which had a coating that looked and tasted like pancake dough. Finally, the sushi was served, which should have been brought to the table first. Only the tuna and eel were as they should be. The rest, we left on the plate. The maki rolls were containing cream cheese, as far as could be ascertained. The server did not care to listen to our complaints. A very bad experience! The Japanese Kirin beer was, however, good, which together with the quality of the eel and tuna brings the one star, which the restaurant otherwise did not deserve..

Nice that it was located at the Casa Magna Marriott when we were next door at the JW. The two resorts are connected. The atmosphere was okay but the sushi was great and so was the service. Great option if staying at either Marriott property.

These folks always serve up the freshest sushi we find in Cancun. The combination platters are an excellent value. This is a must is you are a Sushi Fan. For two of us each having one beer with dinner, it comes in at 100 US and we are stuffed.

Combination Platter 12 piices or more
Large Roll 8 pieces
Two orders of Sashimi 16 pieces
Two Miso Soups
Order of Edamane + they give you some as a comp
Two Asahi

We will go back again next week!
