On arrival we were welcomed with free tequila mixed drinks (nice and refreshing), pre-booking offer via the concierge at the Westin Lagumar.
We were seated near the front of the cooking station but were later moved as the A/C above us started dripping water, good thing our food was not on the table!
We ordered the flambe Tequila shrimps, flambe beef medallions, bull shot steak, beek steak on a sandal, spicy mad salmon, Chicken Molcajetes and Chile relleno with puff pastry.
All the food was perfectly cooked, the flambe shrimps and the beef medallions were cooked at out table and shrimps just melted in your mouth, there was a lot of food for the 8 of us and by the end of the evening we all were well and truly stuffed!
The service was good, enjoyed the food and the drink but had to work extra hard in the gym in morning to burn off those extra calories!

We went here twice on our honeymoon and it was great both times. I had the Talla style fish, which was just amazing (and came with some tortillas, guacamole and pico de gallo), my wife had the bullshot steak (see picture) which was delicious and impressive to watch the flambé at the table too! Generously large margaritas, delicious dessert too. The waiters were also really friendly, helpful and fun (we had Reuben for our table, great guy). There’s a cool little gift shop as well to get some mementos of a great meal =)

We got into La Destileria just by accident since we could not find other restaurant we were looking for. It was a good finding though. We got amazing margaritas and pork pozoles as appetizers and the "Molcajetes" as entrees. All food was amazing. Not the regular mexican food you can get in a regular mexican food in the States. This is the real thing and they have a big menu for you to choose. They have two musicians doing their job but neither pushing the customers nor requesting tips whatsoever. Service was fast and fair. No complains. If it is not too hot, the outside area viewing the lake is quite nice. Kind of expensive though, like everything in Cancun....

We happened upon this place during our walk from our hotel to La Isla. We had lunch on the balcony and took the Tequila tour. Louis was great and the food was the best we had all week!
