“Fantastic show”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Especially if you see it where it all started - in Papantla! If you can't - you can see it in many other places, e.g. Xochimilco floating gardens (in Nuevo Nativitas, near the parking lot), Anthropological Museum in Mexico City (in front of the entrance), Tulum (parking lot), sometimes near the Cholula Pyramid

“Bird Men”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

I have seen these guys in Mexico City. It really was a unique experience. It's incredible what these guys can do - breathtaking. If you get an opportunity to see them - go and see them! It's really worth it.

“This is ancient Mayan bungee jumping !!!”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

These guys are awsome and as they say, "dont try this at home".!!! Their feet and bodies are tied to the top of a tall pole about as high as a 7 story building. Then they jump and slowly unravel their ropes while hanging upside down and swinging around the pole until they reach the end of their ropes and land on the ground unharmed !! One guy even stays on top of the pole and plays a Mayan flute. I have seen these guys in both Cancun,(Xcaret) and the ruins of Taijin in Veracruz. Good show, guys !!!

“What a (head) rush!”
Reviewed February 18, 2012

A unique ritual and performance. The insistence of paying at least 30 pesos "donation" per person did not sit too well with me. But - oh well ...

“Great visit, even in the rain”
Reviewed February 14, 2012

My wife and I live less than two hours' bus ride from Papantla. We visited only for a weekend, but plan to return. The voladores perform every hour daily from 9am to 6pm. We talked with them and took pictures of course, for a small tip. They are very friendly. Their performance is impressive, majestic, and a cultural gem for all of Mexico. I was surprised that they continued to perform, even in the rain! However, we found the slight drizzle to be refreshing since for 8 months or so of the year triple digit temps are the norm. . . . A charming performance and a lovely town.
