The church and the zócalo are corresponding. To Your heart. Believe it or not, preaching or talking, playing or shopping. Be Yourself in the shadow of the trees, before You buy some silver or just mexican food: enchilada verde, chilaquiles, arrachera ...

Like most of the squares in Latin America, this one is vibrant and a place of real abiding for locals and tourists alike. You can spend an entire Saturday here milling around, visiting the shops and then relaxing with shaved ice, or an ice- cream cone, listening to a random group of Mariachi practicing and laughing. Worth the visit, not just for what it is, but also for the fact that it is truly the centre of everything here in Tazco. If you get lost wondering the narrow streets, feasting your eyes on craft and indulging in pastel de elote, just look up and keep an eye on the towering Cathedral above to find your way back.

The Zocalo is a great place to hang and watch the world go by (and the VW taxis). Good views of the cathedral and constant entertainment watching the characters and musicians.

Beautiful plaza to sit and watch people pass by as you taste some of the local delicacies and snacks. On weekends there is music. The tourism booth is very useful and efficient.
