The staff is very friendly, fully prepared to help you have a good stay. The facilities are nice and it shows that the care and service. Personally, the rooms were not the best for rest are acceptable but can improve. The garden rescues the inn.

Another good year at Posada de San Javier.
We arrived in Taxco without a reservation and just hoped there was be room for us here.
When we first asked, we were told that there were no suites available, only rooms.
We were so disappointed, that we thought to try somewhere else.
When they heard this, they phoned to owners, and were able to do a bit of shifting, and find us a suite.
This year we were in the Bougainville Suite. A beautiful, one bedroom apt on two levels.
Kitchen, Livingroom and balcony downstairs, and bedroom, bathroom, and large outdoor sitting area upstairs. Lots of room!

The bedroom was large with a great king size bed and many windows with lovely views of the pool and lawn area. TV located in the bedroom, with lots of channels available.
The outdoor sitting area contained a table and 4 chairs and umbrella - which was needed - it was very sunny and hot.

Included was a continental breakfast, served at the rooftop restraunt, located up the hill.
Most days we upgraded to a full breakfast for a small extra cost.

The only thing that was lacking was a fan. It was very hot during our visit, and the bedroom was quite hot until late into the night. Sure could have used a fan!

It not cheap to stay here ($125.00US), but if you want lots of space, it's worth it. It makes such a nice change from staying in just a hotel room.

I only stayed one night. Made the booking the previous day with Booking.com, which I used many times before without any drama. This time, to my surprise arrived at the hotel and they had no reservation for me. At first the receptionist said she had no rooms, I didnt feel like moving, having walked up the hill from the bus stop, so I just stood there. Then she offered me a suite, and showed me the price, which was the same I had planned to pay through Booking.com anyway. So no worries. Got there in the end.

So OK, amazing location, very central, easy to find, room was fine, nice breakfast. Only negative is that it was noisy up until around midnight, with music and people in the streets outside, but I slept OK.

This place has a great ambience. The staff are very sweet and helpful. The cleaning staff do a great job and keep the place very clean. The location is decent for Taxco - only a 10 minute walk to the Zocalo. It's easy to catch a 'convi' (public transportation) at the ex-convento just up the hill. I don't recommend this place if you want to party hard as they have strict noise rules. Also, it's hard to find someone to do your laundry in Taxco. The hotel charges 5 pesos per article of clothing to wash by hand because very few people own a washer.
This place is ideal for traveling families or couples looking for a calm, well-kept place to stay.

This is a delightful place to stay. The architecture, the landscaping, the pool.....it's a wonderful environment. The staff is very professional, helpful and friendly. It has expanded a lot over the last 5 years - I hope the staff and quaint environment stay the same, and don't get lost in big business! :)

We have tried many hotels in Taxco, but love Posada San Javier the best.

We like to splurge and rent one of the suites here. A bit more money, but what luxury!
Last year we stayed in one of the lower suites and love it (not much of a view of the town, but lovely gardens.

This year ,we were rewarded for being return customers, and given one of the large suites with balcony views to die for - for the Jr suite rates. It was up 3 flights of stairs, but for the view of the town of Taxco, it was worth the climb. Delightfully, because the hotel is built of the side of the hill, our suite had outside access to the street, over half way up the steep street.
Took many steps off the journey to the center of town - great for us older travelers.

The kitchen/living room was huge - beautifully furnished. The bedroom had 3 double beds and another living room suite, but it was hard to leave the big, private, balcony with the views.

Good Internet in the room, and nice large TV with good channel selection.

We're spending the week in this magical town, and with this great location, it's going to be hard to leave.

Thankfully, there always next year!

This hotel has a beautiful garden and is just a few blocks from the center of Taxco. Nice refuge from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful rooftop breakfast area right next door. They have rooms available for up to four people, as well as connected suites good for families. The value is excellent for the quality of rooms. Very clean and well-maintained and good service. Beware of steep hill on this street if you are not in good shape (but that's true of most of Taxco).
