very typical, near every thing of interest ,this is hotel is charming with however the limits inhrent to an old buiding eg no elevator and no services . Rooms are nice and clean andi there is ser a very good restaurant. Take notice however that this hotel will bill you like an hourlyrate cheap motel meaning that you have to pay in advance every night and in cash only. The prices however are very acceptable.

Room Tip: Taxco is a very beautiful town but like many mexican citie is very noisy. A room on the side of the...

I really like the environment of an old house, it is really quiet to rest and all the people is really kind.

The restaurant there is good as well, the location is very close to sta prisca church.

We asked for 30 minutes after checkout and they made it possible.

I travel to Mexico 2x a year and always stay at Hotel Los Arcos. I loved it 13 years ago and still do. There have been so many improvements and upgrades that the experience just gets better and better. The hotel has so much charm with beautiful textiles and warm colors. There is now a restaurant on the premises! And a good one too! It makes for a lively atmosphere in the evenings. Stay there but please leave a room for me.

I agree with all the positive comments in the reviews below. This is an oasis of calm with well maintained shaded courtyards, large clean rooms, good shower, WiFi and a fan and drinking water is provided in the rooms plus friendly, helpful staff. Taxco itself is a pretty village and well worth a visit although somewhat marred by the fumes and noise of the constant flow of two way traffic through the narrow cobbled streets – much of it empty VW cabs plying for hire. Also, if as muted Taxco is the birthplace of the ‘Margarita’, they serve the meanest measures so far encountered in Mexico.

We stopped in Taxco during a drive through Central Mexico ad found this gem on the internet before we left. Finding the hotel was tricky as we were driving into the maze of streets, but we found a young boy who agreed to show us the way and we tipped him a few dollars. We were a family of two adults and a college aged daughter. We always try to look for hotels in old monastery or buildings because the architecture and ambiance is so amazing. We had a split level room which was the perfect size for the three of us, and we loved exploring the courtyards of the hotel, and hanging out on the roof top deck which has the most amazing views of the city and the cathedral. It was a short uphill walk to the main plaza and silver market.

Hotel Los Arcos was the most beautiful hotel we stayed in in Mexico. The room and courtyard were beautifully decorated, with white and hand embroidered throws, cushions and curtains. The room was spacious and airy, with lots of light, and very clean. The soaps and body lotions are rose scented.

We had breakfast in the patio downstairs, which is really beautiful, with its own tree and fountain. I would recomend you go there for a cup of tea even if you don't stay there. We had eggs divorciados, american pancakes and orange juice, very good choices.

The hotel has many terraces with chairs, reclining seats or swings where you can rest and take the sun or watch the stars. The roof terrace is beautiful, it has a lovely view over the town and the church, and there are some sunbeds, benches and wrought iron tables where you can sit.

We only stayed for one night on a short trip from Mexico City to Taxco, but I wished we had stayed at least two nights, it is such a beautiful place, both Taxco and the hotel. Very romantic.

Only catch, the rooms are noisy as they all overlook the terraces and the courtyard, and there are people going around talking loudly all the time. But this is the case anywhere in Mexico, so take earplugs.

The location is very good, five minutes walk from the centre.

I love this hotel. I would recommend to anyone. Wonderful atmosphere and helpful staff. Spacious, light rooms with comfortable beds. I would avoid eating in the restaurant Sotavento though. Great for breakfast but really poor in the evening. Its run by a different company although housed within the hotel. Don't let it put you off staying here. I'll definitely be staying again.

Room Tip: Inner rooms are quieter at night as the streets of Taxco can be very noisy right through until 3am
