“Small restaurant with style and good food in the heart of town”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

Whether you want to eat vegetarian, pasta, meat, fish, desinfected salads: here you have a good choice. The owner will also adapt to your wishes. While your meal gets prepared you can and probably will crave for the whole wheat-bread with butter and some sauces. The owner of this restaurant has learned during 17 years in a restaurant run by a Frenchmen, who had been trained in the art of cooking in Paris and Italy.

“Simple, good value”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

Reasonably priced, typical mexican food. My kids had grilled chicken and arranchara. They cut the meat up and ate it with a tortilla like a soft taco. My wife and I both had chicken mole (mole negro) which was very tasty. There was nothing fancy about the place, but the food was good and the price was right.

“Great food, reasonably priced”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

The Maya Pakal is like the restaurants I remember in Mexico from 30 years ago. No themes or glitz, just good quality, good tasting food at half the prices you pay in most hotels and restaurants that cater to tourists. It is conveniently located one-half block off the zocalo on Madero Street. The breakfast menu has great variety and is delicious. The lunch and dinner menu also has lots of choices, including vegetarian selections. Over our week's stay in San Cristobal, we tried a few other places, but kept going back to Maya Pakal. The service is friendly and caring.

“We loved the Maya Pakal. I can't believe...”
Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

We loved the Maya Pakal. I can't believe it is not in the top five restaurants in San Cristobal. The food was typical Mexican food-delicious , the restaurant was clean, the service was great and the price was unbelievable. We ate breakfast and dinner there for four out of the five days we were in San Cristobal.

“Calm beautiful atmosphere, accommodating service and excellent food”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

You want to have a good meal in a pleasant surrounding with kind and obliging service in the heart of San Cristobal de las Casas, you go to the Restaurant Maya Pakal. You get without extra costs a special whole wheat bread, which comes for you immediately while waiting for your meal. You can order vegetarian meals, pastas and meat dishes.
In the quality of the meal and the restaurant atmosphere you notice that the owner has learned for over 17 years with a Frenchman who had before a restaurant in the same street and who had been trained in cooking in Paris and Italy.
You will be surprised about the very just price for this what you get!
