After staying at qhia on two separate occasions I'd say it is probably one of my favorite hostels that I have stayed at after months of traveling. It is a budget hostel decorated by murals and art left by travelers and locals of San cris and has a beautiful garden attracting hummingbirds. The employees are extremely kind and eager to share what they know about the city. The spacious upstairs terrace might be one of the coziest places Ive ever hung out in, with a large fireplace, beds all over the floor to take naps, read, or play guitar, and beautiful artwork in all directions. The kitchen is loaded with proper cooking utensils and has a generous sharing basket full of spices and herbs. Lastly it is in a great location being only a couple minute walk from the food and artesanal market. If you're looking for an authentic San cristobal experience where you can practice your spanish, meet wonderful locals, and meet fascinating world travelers qhias your spot.

I found this perfect hostel! It is located in the most interesting area of the city center, close to the craft markets, between small and pretty streets.
It has a large terrace with views of the city, and on the same roof there is a large common room available, for the relax of all the guests. There, you can read, work on the computer, chatting with others. Alex, the manager of the hostel is muy buena onda! Ask him, the hostel offer the service of planning short travels around. This hostel is a perfect combination, because it is a quiet and peaceful place, but, at the same time, it is very easy-going place, where meet new friends and socialize.

The hostel has a the best location possible, a few seconds away from the market, the main street and the city center in general... It has a very nice setting, warm, cosy, clean and well decorated. The must see is the incredible view on the mountains surrounding the city from the terrace on rooftop.. Breakfast is included and tasty and there's a kitchen available to cook. Alex, the manager seemed like a friend we had always knew, he's so welcoming and helpful and really do his best to make you feel like home, playing the guitar, singing, trying to speak your language and making you discover the mexican culture as much as he can...! I would definitely go back !

Room Tip: The twin bedrooms are very comfortable and almost the same price as the dorms - it's really wort...

We felt right at home in the cozy atmosphere at Qhia during our five night stay. Good facilities, pleasant and helpful staff, and a simple breakfast is even included. Just a short walk to most anywhere in San Cristóbal and easy access to necessities close by. Alejandro is ready and willing to help out with ideas/recommendations on activities. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Private room on second floor is secluded and quiet. But no bathroom...

It was a very pleasant stay and the owner was a very nice and social person. At the hostel you can really relax, which is something you can definitely use after visiting the lovely but busy town of San Christobal. Because of the excellent location of the hostel, you can visit the town by foot in no time.
In the ‘chill room’ you don’t only have a stunning view over the city, but there’s also the possibility to meet other guests or just relax by yourself or with your companionship and others.
I’ve travelled through Mexico for about a month and my stay in Qhia was by far the most pleasant and relaxing hostel I’ve come across.

It is a most welcoming hostel run by a friendly young man called Alejandro; a hostel full of nice globe-trotters from all over the world, with a marvellous terrace lounge where you can light a warm chimney fire, which makes you feel so comfortable in this wonderful, but rather cold Mexican town in winter.
Best atmosphere and yet calm and relaxing, due to the long experience of a very unique person: Rodolfo, the owner of Qhia!
