i stayed in Iguana Hostel for couple of days in August 2010 and really enjoyed the time spent there. Even if you are travelling alone and sometimes feel a little lonely, when coming to this hostal - this feeling diappear immediately! The community in this hostel is like a BIG FRIENDLY FAMILY of friends-travellers from all the world. A lot of fun and interesting events are waiting for you in the leisure afternoons and evenings. Somebody will defenitely play guitar on terrace or telling some interesting stories about journey. So great company! I think it was the nicest company of people I met together in one small hostal during all my big journey)))))
The sevice (receprion desk, clean rooms etc.) is also very nice. And breakfasts!!! They are really tasty, rich, full of fruits and sweets. great hostal breakfast! The owners of hostal don't try to save money on this :))) thank you so much for it))

I stayed at the Hostel Iguana for the month of July, when it was still pretty new. I really enjoyed my stay here. The hostel creates a great ambience. It is a very cute set-up - everything from the walls to the sheets in bright vibrant colours, a nice communal kitchen with outdoor tables for eating/socializing, a fuseball and ping pong table. You can't beat the location, right next to the Santo Domingo artisan market where you can buy the best Mexican clothing/jewelry/souvenirs for amazing prices. What most stands out about the hostel though is the service and the staff, who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and apart of the "hostel family". While there weren't usually wild parties, almost every night people gathered in the dining area with hosts and staff and got oriented with one another. Staff were also excellent for recommendations and accommodating particular needs. You couldn't ask for better hosts - Rudy and Monika - who are always around and very helpful. I have very fond memories of my stay at this place and highly recommend it!

When on the street was rainy and grey in hostel Iguana I spent good time with my girlfriend where is colorful, cheerfully and nice people - especially owners - Monika and Rudy. There is everything what you need - space to relax and prepare food, to use internet and watch TV. Also you can do laundry and prepare yourself to next trip. Enjoy this place!
