“Great entertainment, service and atmoshere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

My husband had the great fortune to stumble on flamingo dance show at Gourmand in January 2014. Didn't have a full meal but what we had was excellent and the service was very good. The entertainment was magic.

“Very nice place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2013

My family ate at Gourmand tonight and had a very nice time. We had a great chacuterie for our appetizer, good sandwiches, decent wine and great craft beers from Mexico. Our waiter was bilingual, English and Spanish, and was very knowledgeble about the beer and wine. I recommend highly.

“Perhaps overrated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

The place is pleasant, well-located, and the staff is very nice. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich, which supposedly came with a side of potato salad (you get, literally, a tablespoon of it). Flavor was OK, but I ended up drinking five glasses of water later -- not sure if the saltiness came from the bread, sandwich contents or the potato salad. Because in the tourist zone, prices are high for what it is. I say "perhaps" overrated because I did not sample the other dishes or try the beers.

“Not good”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013 via mobile

This place is fine, nice decor and clean... Only problem being the food which is overpriced and awful. Failed attempt at a innovative fusion deli - the vegetarian bocata ruined my entire trip. Unless the chef was using the lack of texture and terrible flavour as an allegory for the post migrant Mexican condition, I don't see much value, culinary or artistic, in his 'creation'. At no point throughout the whole of the oozing, indistinct ordeal, did the chef manage to approach anything that even vaguely resembled an acceptable flavour. I'm not even angry, just so, so disappointed.

“Best Little Hamburger”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

I fell in love with this deli. Everything is made in house, to the breads to the curing of the meat and the beer. Prices are fair and the ambience is very comfortable. I love the non typical hamburger, served on a small bun with cured ham and bacon, unlike your traditional hamburguesa in Mexico, it is a must try. The owner is a young American woman fluent in English and Spanish and very accommodating and knowledgeable. If you're homesick for a little taste of home this where you can fill your need. Don't miss this gem of a deli. I highly recommend it.
