“Delightful b&b”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was very convenient. The daily breakfasts were a delight both to eat and see! We booked with them to have the termacel experience. Two hours of total bliss and the best massage we had ever had. We were 2 couples and we enjoyed meeting the other couple who had the third bedroom. Rene was most helpful and gave us many tips on special places to eat both in Oaxaca as well as Mexico City. Our rooms were very comfortable.

Stay at the Casa de los Milagros where you are treated as one of the family. Simply beautiful private home converted into a small B&B. Gorgeously decorated, this guesthouse is a treat to the senses.

Service is friendly and exceptional - the owners are there to greet you when you arrive and give you a tour, and staff are available throughout the day (not the night - because it is small, there is not overnight staff) to help you whenever you need. The owner even came by to say goodbye to us before he left in the evening as we were leaving on an early flight the next morning and he wouldn't see us.

Lovely breakfast in the beautiful kitchen is included. Delicious coffee, fresh juice, yoghurt, and eggs. Simply beautiful.

There are only 3 rooms here, so it is very quiet, even in the common areas (there's a great living room with very comfortable couches and a computer station, and a spectacular terrace on the roof from which you can watch the sunset). The rooms vary in size, we were in the smallest (Gloria I believe, and they warned us of this when we booked) which was a little small for two people, but fine. However, if you like more space, I would recommend requesting one of the larger rooms.

Simply lovely. I highly recommend this B&B. It is also good value for money as much better service an amenities than a similarly priced place we stayed in Oaxaca.

Room Tip: Rooms vary in size and price. 'Gloria' is the smallest - if you are 2 people and like a bit...

We stayed just two nights here and I'm already planning my next trip. The accommodations were outstanding: friendly, comfortable, clean, affordable. Plus, the family and staff made my stay much better than a typical B&B experience. Rene shared his knowledge of the area, including his expertise in mescal, and the women who made the delicious breakfasts were wonderful. Next time I go, I'll ask Rene for a tour of unexpected surprises and I'll spend a week, maybe longer. Would be great for a family traveling together who want a home base in Oaxaca. Many thanks, Milagros!

Had a fantastic time on my trip to Oaxaca, and Casa de los Milagros was a very good home base. The locations is great... about 8 blocks from the zocalo and less than a 10 minute walk. The house is beautiful... especially love the rooftop deck and terrace. Breakfast was also delicious. We had the smaller room but it was still very comfortable and had everything we needed.

It should be noted that the property isn't staffed full-time (usually they leave by 3pm). The very friendly owners made it abundantly clear that we should call if we ever needed anything, at any hour of the day and they really meant it. But still, the minimal staffing can lead to some issues: when the Wi-Fi wasn't working at 10pm on Sunday, it was a little frustrating, because it was the sort of thing I didn't want to trouble anyone about and drag them out of bed for at that time, but if the place was staffed full-time I'm sure it could have been fixed immediately. Just something to keep in mind.

My family booked Casa le los Milagros over Christmas. It is hard to describe the beauty of the house or the hospitality of the hosts. The house is simply stunning, filled with beautiful art. It is also immaculate. The breakfasts were beautiful, tasty and healthy. The staff are courteous, professional and dress in traditional clothes. The common areas to the house - the living room, kitchen, dining room, foyer, courtyard, balcony and rooftop terrace are substantial. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable. The house was designed by a talented architect and we loved the built in cabinets, wood braced ceilings and large protected courtyard in the center of the home. It definitely has the look and feel of a Spanish colonial house, but with modern amenties. The house is conveniently located to Santo Domingo Church, the zocalo, and other shopping. We also booked Rene, the owner, for two tours to craft villages and to sites. He is extremely knowledgable and gracious. He tailored the tours to our interests and we had a great time. His English is better than most Americans. I have stayed at resorts in many places in the US and abroad, and I have never been treated better or felt more at home. The attention to detail is extremely impressive. At Casa de los Milagros you get the efficiency and beauty of a high end resort, but more important, you feel the warmth and attention that is only possible at this size facility and in a country like Mexico. I could not recommend it more highly.

Room Tip: The master suite on the ground floor is stunning and far enough from street noise that we had zero t...

This is a nice B&B. Choose the rooms upstairs which are more luminous. The breakfast is really fantastic and is served in a large colonial dining room by a very friendly staff. The place is very clean. Unfortunately it is located near a very busy street, One way uphill, and trucks and buses in l'os gear are very noisy.

I could not say enough great things about this place! The staff are so lovely and welcoming! The building itself is stunning (upstairs terrace for wine and cheese and a sunset is a must). The breakfast was a highlight of my entire Oaxaca trip; it's traditional, perfect amount of food, and so delicious! Rufina is an incredible cook! This place is a must for Oaxaca! I miss it already!
