What an amazing experience, Agustin helped us create some of the most amazing food I have ever eaten. I love Mexican cuisine, and therefore may have bias, but this was authentic, tasty and a fun day. Agustin provided drinks laughs and a satisfied stomach! I would recommend to everyone.

“The best cooking class EVER!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

As someone who has worked for many years in the food industry and now a fellow teacher, I always when traveling like to experience a cooking course.

Agustin provided a real hands on experience, in a real environment. You don't get a showroom kitchen or have to watch the teacher show you, you really do get stuck in.

A great experience visiting the market begins the start of this amazing class, Agustin is knowledgable about all the ingredients and you learn so much firstly by going to the market to get the ingredients for the mole.

Once back at a terrace above the restaurant we set to making the mole (35 ingredients) and this is the start, we made so much which is a refreshing change from all the other classes. We made green tomato, red tomato sauce, guacamole, black bean sauce, salsa all to go with various dishes.

As a foodie I loved the hands on experience and the passion Agustin has and how relaxed and fun he is. He speaks many languages which makes him even more amazing.

After we had made all the foodie taught us how to use the bases into all the traditional dishes and complimented it with beer or mescal.
The food was amazing and lots to try and taste.

I highly recommend this class for the amount you learn, the food and the price but mostly for Agustin who is a wonderful man that enthuses you with his passion and love for oaxacan cuisine.

“Excellent culinary experience”

From the point that Agustin picked us up at our hotel, to the tour through the market (did you know that there are male and female tomatillos) to going to his house to learn to prepare several different dishes this was an unforgettable experience. Our primary goal was to learn how to prepare mole and we received in depth, hands on instructions. His enthusiasm for his work shows and we had a great time. Agustin rocks the kitchen!!!

“Love what you do....”

...and you will never work a day in your life! Augustin lives by this motto and it truly shows. His enthusiasm and love for Oaxacan cuisine is contagious.

We started at the local markets to pick up some ingredients, then it was back to Augustin's terrace for the cooking lesson. We learned to make a total of 14 dishes, including two moles, enchiladas, and stuffed chiles (our favourite). The beer, mezcal, and music were all flowing, and all in all it was a fantastic hands-on experience!

“Must do in Oaxaca”

Our day spent cooking with Agustin was a highlight of our trip.
We gained insight into the Mexican way of cooking through a hands on, fun and delicious full day class.
Would recommend all visiting Oaxaca to try this class!
